Well myself & my wife have had a lovely day out in Malpas @ the 2023 event. We have been many times before & its always a high point of our summer things & events to go to. I think I 1st got there in 73/74. I would of been about 12. You could park up on the main road & hop over the hedge to get in. But its matured & expanded & despite Covid it still is a excellent day out for anyone. To anyone who has never been but has thought about it ....... just go next year. I am :-)

Thanks for checking out this vid, yes I had planned to go today but for reasons I won't bore you with, plus the fact that it's chucking it down out there, we'll be skipping it this time around.

That huge Foden recovery truck has to be my favourite, proper piece of machinery! It was also great to learn about that Morgan, always good fun to chat to the owners! Thankyou for the superb entertainment :)

Hi all, you stopped short of white ambulance at one point near the Claymore lookalike truck which I’m sure was the original incarnation of the oily rag truck, I may be wrong but old and ugly enough to remember those ambulances still in action in London Thanks for a great visit.Mike

What a fantastic video - something for everyone here. Lovely to see the Daimler Majestic - one of my 'dream cars' ! The Standard Vanguard was stunning too. Some really beautifully turned out vehicles there - even the oily raggers, it's just great to see them still running. Thanks for such a brilliant video. Take care 🙂

My Uncle Sid used to have a girder forked Reliant van back in the fifties, us kids called it a 'Doodle Bug', on the 'Cold War Motors' channel this week there's a pickup version of 'Big Dodge', there's also a Cord Westchester sedan. The red ERF on the trailer looks as though it could be ex-Ushers brewery of Trowbridge judging by its Wiltshire tag, GMR 93. Ushers had a big fleet of those back in the day. The later 'E' type Vauxhalls were known as 'Mouth Organ' grille models. All The Best from Somerset.

Great video's thanks. You obviously have Australian connections I am in Western Australia (originally from uk) and used to drive coaches, road trains and anything you can think of through the Kimberley and Pilbara regions. Thanks again.

Thanks for watching, no real link to Oz I'm afraid other than buying Bedford utes quite a few years ago from NSW

The half cab Foden coach looks superb. If you look the aperture for the starting handle is slightly off centre. I believe this denotes it has Foden's own two stroke engine. The option was a Gardner engine and the aperture for the handle is central to the vertical trim. Or it might be the other way around!!!
@oldclassiccarUK2 жыл бұрын
It did sound like a two-stroke

at 44.05 on video mk3 cortina never seen one like this here in ireland it looks different keep videos going there savage
@paulc1452 жыл бұрын
Hi I think that's actually a Ford Taunus - continental version of the Cortina. See it's LHD and wipers sweep the other way. Bonnet and rear quarter panels also different from UK model.
@paulc1452 жыл бұрын
Thanks for showing us some great cars and commercials. Isn't Malpas in Cheshire though rather than Shropshire despite the SY14 postcode !
@oldclassiccarUK2 жыл бұрын
Yes it would appear so! thanks for pointing it out
@paulc1452 жыл бұрын
@@oldclassiccarUK No problem. I must say the depth of your knowledge is absolutely formidable especially on commercials and pre 60s stuff neither of which really appeals to me personally but you find so interesting. All your hard work is definitely appreciated here !

If they have a collection of old lorries then that would be a good idea, not interested in the new vehicles though. Thanks for watching.
@paulhitchcock97602 жыл бұрын
Sadly, quite a lot of these are ''old'' rather than ''classic''
@oldclassiccarUK2 жыл бұрын
Classic is just a general term for anything old I think, it doesn't necessarily imply great virtues I think. Thanks for watching!
