I agree as a child seeing the same things from year to year made it seem so special. Now that I am older I get excited on seeing what I pull out every year. I sometimes switch colors but I think I'm going to do exactly what I did last year. I loved it so much so want to do it again.

How refreshing to FINALLY see a young mother reusing things from last year. As a 63 yo grandmother, I grew weary trying to keep up with all new things. As a mother, part of traditions in the south have always been the excitement of bringing out the boxes from seasons past, and the joy the children eventually will feel when they see that favorite piece coming out for another Christmas. It’s wonderful to hopefully see your children experiencing that in just a couple more years. I’m sure for your sponsors, you have to bring out new for them.

I love red and green for Christmas because it just makes the house feel so homey and warm. The house looks like a fun Christmas for the boys and they will always remember helping you decorate the tree. Although as they get older, they will "catch you" changing where they put the ornaments on the tree. Lol Christmas is all about family and you've shown that in decorating the house for Christmas. Yay! Reusing what you already have! That’s part of the tradition of Christmas or any special family holiday. I still have my now adult children’s school made ornaments and pictures that I hang on the tree and that are in frames that I hang on the wall and I have added to my handcrafted ornaments and pictures with our grandchildren! When my children and grandchildren come over, the adults always say “I can’t believe you still have that” or”Inremember when I made that…” and my grandchildren get excited when they see their crafts displayed on our tree and walls! One of the newer items I have incorporated are snow globes- both electric and hand shaking ones, I even have ones for Halloween and Thanksgiving, and again, adults and children alike veer towards them to shake them or look into them for the scenes. Traditions are what glue families together and what creates fond memories through the years and incorporating new ones because why not or melding your children-in-law’s family traditions make the seasons and especially Christmas and Easter so beautiful!

I am madly in love with that train in the kids bedroom. I ended up buying a tree for my daughter and one for my son they are a day less than a year apart, now full grown adults but people started sending for Christmas ornaments for them that just didn’t go with my theme on my tree and it was my way of stopping the kids from putting the ornaments on my tree because like you there are places for things and yes I know it’s frowned upon by many people but I don’t care I like my tree a certain way. So then they had their trees in their rooms that they could decorate themselves and they could put all of the NASCAR and Barbie ornaments galore on their own trees. They actually really loved doing that I must say.

That sounds like such a perfect solution! Giving your kids their own trees must have been such a fun way for them to express their personalities with all their favorite ornaments, while keeping your main tree exactly as you like it.

@@hintex487 Those were also the ornaments that they took with them when they moved out to start their own trees with some extra ones that I had given them from my mom. It’s expensive to first start out with your first apartment decorating for your first Christmas.

Absolutely love the tree! The touches of Christmas in each room are fun and lovely. All the Norman Rockwell prints are fabulous 😍! However, my favorite are the two prints above your bed. Everything is so tastefully done and child friendly. As I work my way through the fall season, I think Christmas will be smaller this year due to an injury that makes it difficult to lift, or climb ladders. However, there are always ways around all that. One of my happy memories are of helping my Aunt decorate the tree for my Grandma, with her watching us going for it with smiles and laughter.
