Oh i remember this match very well. I was 17 at that time, I live 10 hours behind Melbourne, so I set the alarm on early morning to see the match. Serena had a slow start, she lost the first set quite easily, Sharapova got the break in the 2nd set and i thought she will lost in 2 sets and i will go back to bed to get some sleep before the school, I didn't know that the match just started. As the time went by i was brushing my teeth, dressing up, eating my breakfast, packing my backpack in front of TV, I wasn't sure if I catch the bus to be in school on time (i wouldn't mind to be late for this match), but Serena closed the match right on time, I left the house, catch the bus and was sooo tired at school, but so happy that i could see the whole match, which is one of my all time favorite.

The odd parte was that whenever maria screamed her loudest she hardly even hit the ball hard . It was a way to trick the oponent into thinking the balls a rocket . Azarenka did this too and some of her shots would be hard but some would be softies . Apart from serena the only person who hit the ball hard with the grunt genuinely was dementieva at wimbledin semi . Even she used to fake it on other days
