Apparently, this week was scheduled for January 04-08, 1988, but an unknown preemption during November or December 1987 forced it to air January 05-08; 11, 1988 instead. This unknown preemption seemed to have only impacted NBC and not CBS or ABC.

The Fashion Coordinator for the show, Sherrell Paris, was a member of the girl group The Paris Sisters, who had a big hit titled "To Know Him Is To Love Him". True story. They used to have her sing it with two of the "Price Is Right" models whenever they were giving away karaoke machines as "Contestants' Row" bidding prizes.

This episode was actually aired on January 11, 1988 because of the Alf and Valerie's Family promos which are usually on Monday nights at the time. Plus, this episode has a 1987 copyright date because it was taped probably in late 1987 (November or December).

livingincolor This was probably rerun back then. Besides, if this were from '88, Sandra would have retired days ago, considering the fact that she won a car on an earlier show (judging from her big total at the beginning (over $14K)), and the 5-match limit was thrown out in favor of the one-car limit in 12/30/87. This definitely aired in November '87. A few trading sites prove it.

Won a car the other day. So he didn't quite make because he got little bit confused. So Mary Anne filled in & she gets now 40 seconds. That's what'll be only shown there.

So, were the only contestants for this show from southern California? Every time someone wins a trip the announcer says, "We'll fly you and a companion from Los Angeles," and I think to myself, "Wouldn't it just be easier, cheaper, and quicker for all parties involved to fly me and a companion from our home airport on the east coast to (D.C., Bermuda, etc.)? I can understand flying from L.A. to Tahiti or Australia, but it doesn't make any sense to fly all the way across the country just to fly all the back and beyond unless, of course, we were in the L.A. area to start with."
