Solida was raised in a strict Christian household and wasn’t allowed to date. Solida lost her virginity to Derrick and found out she was pregnant. They were married before the birth of her child. Sadly, when they were married, none of her family showed up. She says the very day the two of them moved in together they started having problems with their relationship. Salida says Derrick was verbally abusive. She says the two of them were both physically abusive towards each other.

Same! 34, engaged and saving ourselves for marriage! It feels good to know I waited and he waited for the right person, our forever person, and got to know each other without sex and fell madly in love. I can’t wait to marry my man! We will “experience” together. That’s the beauty of it.

@@AnooDw that's how i took it as well, i think she specifically meant she waited longer to lose her virginity than the average person. I personally waited until I was 20 and have only ever been with my husband, but I know literally all of my high school friends lost their virginity before we graduated.

She's truly a *prime example* of why sheltering kids too much, not (responsibly, gradually and age appropriatly) exposing them to the *real world* and teaching abstinence only (until marriage) as "sex ed" is a recipe for nearly guaranteed *disaster.* Smfh, that's just hella irresponsible. Being sheltered your entire childhood, only to get thrown into adulthold without any safe and guided exposure is *hella bad and irresponsible "parenting".* That's setting your kids up for failure. Growing up that way won't benefit the child at all. A *massive* part of a parent's job is *preparing them for the next stage of life,* so they're better equipped to handle going into adulthood. Sheltering is just neglectful. It's so much better to come prepared with knowledge instead of having to figure it all out on your own without any guidance. Those kinds of parents are only shielding themselves from being uncomfortable, leaving the child unprepared for life. It has *absolutely no benefit* for the child, those parents are simply shielding themselves from the responsibility of being parents. Smfh, I just can't stand those kinds of parents. They're truly really only setting their children up for failure, which is hella irresponsible and negligable. That breed of parents are selfish and irresponsible. They're truly neglecting their children's needs. Your kids are not kids forever. Why is thos such a hard concept???!?!?!? Jfc.. I've never seen that kind of (non-)parenting work in the kid's benefit.. at all. *Don't become a parent if you're not ready to actually parent. That's abusive to the child. Nobody benefits at all.. all it does is endanger the child even more.* The real world always comes. Your child is gonna learn what you're trying to shield them from one way or the other, so *please* for the love of children and their well being, actually properly prepare them for the world. Don't have children if you're not prepared for them to not be toddlers the rest of their lives. It's better to come prepared with knowledge, than earn that knowledge the hard way. Jfc, parenting classes should be mandatory. This is simply child endangerment. The real world always catches up to you. Your baby is not going to be a baby forever. *Don't have kids if you're not willing to do the work and take on the responsibility of actually raising a child. WHY IS THAT SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND FFS!?!??!?!?????* Knowledge is not harmful for a child. Lack of knowledge on the other hand most certainly is. This shouldn't be that hard of a concept to grasp. I guess far too many people want the benefit and credit of being a parent without the responsibility of actually being one. Ughh.

These young people are a straight up MESS ! They need to : 1) Do a paternity test in the child in question 2) go to counseling individually and. 3) as a couple & 4) BOTH need anger management classes ... & THEN there can be a question of maturity, divorce, and having jobs that are capable of supporting a spouse & 3 damn children, married or divorced.

Having stereotypically "feminine" gestures or mannerisms does not make you gay. Hand gestures don't have a gender and have nothing to do with sexuality. How we move and express ourselves with our bodies has everything to do with up bringing. He has an island/Caribbean accent. In a lot of Caribbean homes there are generations of women raising the children. If he grew up around a lot of women then he may have picked up what he saw and is more "feminine" but that doesn't make him gay. The ignorance and homophobia in this comment section is sad. As a community we need to expand our minds about sexuality, gender expression, gender roles and social norms. Because some people in this comment section are just making "clever" comments, some people are just stating opinions and then some people are just being straight up rude/nasty.

There is a lot of commentary about the gesticulation, gestures and movement of the defendant as feminine. I understand Americans interpreting his body language in this way. It is mischaracterized in as much that clearly from his accent his family is from the Islands either Jamaica, Belize, Cape Verde or Haiti. Men and women from these areas are more demonstrative when they speak, smacking or pursing you lips and all kinds of noises can mean different things like a punctuation to add that a person is lying, a situation is ridiculous and the like. Rocking back and forth from side to side like a pendulum is seen more as the movement of a man a masculine movement. Women from the islands seldom do that in speaking and explaining things. Men who appear present as masculine or feminine may or may not be gay or bi-sexual. Yet to put his speech, pursed lips and body movement in cultural context. From the islands none of those movements are seen as gay and the more exaggerated movements of all of the above happen more from men than women. He is patterning after men who are considered overtly masculine from the islands and not the opposite.

Thank you for this!! I’m so tired of people judging men like that. I’m middle eastern and men in my family dance, cook and have a lot of animated hand gestures as well and they are not gay. Not like I would care if they were but a man is not just a still , aggressive, non emotional human. Men can and ate anything they want from All backgrounds and cultures and ways of speaking and expressing !

You don’t have sex with a friend. You have sex with a lover, a boyfriend, a fiancé or a husband but NOT WITH A FRIEND! You loose a lover, it’s nothing. You loose a boyfriend, you find another. You loose a fiancé, you will survive. You loose a husband, it’s sad but you won’t be the first nor the last. But you loose a friend, I mean a real friend, somebody you can trust and confide to without being judge, someone you can cry on his (her) shoulder and won’t be taking advantage of, THAT kind of friend is irreplaceable. You have sex with a friend and you lose something special with that person.
