Classic Dune Homebrew Invitational: Moons over Arrakis

Today I've got a special game for you all. We're using a homebrew variant I designed called Moons. When you use Moons, you draw 2 from the deck to use in the game. Each Moon has a unique rule for how it moves along the sectors of the board, and how it affects the sector that it is in. Enjoy!

It's great because they're just cards and a few simple tokens. Super easy to produce.

the abomination seems like you can just farm traitors forever, you could easily just agree to go into 2 territories under the moon with someone ever turn and through to each other to get a traitor each

That would be 4 spice each turn and that's all you're doing each turn. You could do that, but I'd be surprised if either player ended up winning if they did that more than once.

Have you considered cycling through the moon cards after each storm phase? Instead of having just the two initial cards throught the game

Sorry I didn't reply to you earlier. From the start I wanted each Moon to stay the same, I wanted them to feel like actual moons that had various superstitions about them, like they are in the setting. Having moons whose effects change dramatically over the course of the game might be more exciting, but I think by drawing a card for each that is constant throughout the game makes them feel like characters, rather than just ways to inject more complexity. All of my homebrew is made with evocativeness first. A homebrew faction might be mechanically interesting, but unless it makes you feel like you're a part of the dune universe, I think it loses a lot of the magic that the official content possesses.

Do you have a pdf file for these cards? I really REALLY enjoyed watching this video through and through and really want to print these cards out for real life dune for me and my school friends:) I would love to play with this add on😊

If you're on the Dune Tabletop Discord server there's tons of homebrew content that people have shared. Thats gonna be the best place to find homebrew.
