Classic Game Room reviews ADVENTURES OF TRON for Atari 2600 from M-Network released in 1982, an amazing arcade style game based on the Disney film, Tron.

One small correction: You don't have to alternate sides with the elevators, however you DO have to jump across the center pole to reset them. Once you've jumped over the center and the elevators reset, you can use either one.

Hey Mark, when lighting your room while playing on your tv, you may want a secondary defused-light on your left side on a higher level to eliminate some of the shadows given off by your posters.

Tron the original arcade game is my favorite arcade game of all time. Love that one.

superb game. The collision detection is simply what it is in the same way some shooters only have the centre of your ship detectable. Nothing questionable about it

I don't know why they couldn't do the arcade game. Three of the four stages were already close to 2K or 4K cartridges: Surround, Combat and Squeeze Box (I used to say Breakout before I found this one). Seems like if you bought Gorf and it didn't have any levels you knew, but was something else space-themed, like Star Raiders.

Someone should do it now! The reason why Mattel didn't is b/c Midway made the Tron arcade games (don't forget the even better arcade game Discs of Tron). With their own games, they didn't have to work out a licensing deal (Midway might not have wanted to license them, or might not have been allowed to by their contract with Disney), and they got to keep all of the profits themselves. BTW, Ram It for VCS is similar to Squeeze Box, but even better.

tron reminds me of one of the levels of an old atari 800 game that came bundled with the computer called the lone raider.

Woah! You're oh so right! Never thought of these two games at the same time before. We didn't have The Lone Raider over here in the US--it was made in the UK and only Atari UK bundled it with Atari computers for a period.

hey lord karnage i am a fan of yours i have followed your reviews for a long while, but a question about iron for atari 2600..... well more for the controller...... when u say "game pack" for the sega genesis u mean the controller you can plug in to an atari 2600? and play this game?

Yes! And the SMS controllers work, too. Some newer games use a 2nd button on Sega controllers, too.
