My father collected sports cards and one of the stores he went to had a game room with Mario bros my brother and I loved to go with we would grab a handful of quarters and have a great time! They had Rush 'n' attack so I split my time with that too

Now THIS is gameplay! Some people want their games to be story-driven and just pushing a button while the character onscreen does all the work, but to me a real videogame will test your skill and make you cry and sweat pools of blood because few things in life are more satisfying than beating a legitimately challenging videogame :D

To Mark and/or who ever edits these videos: When taking 60i footage and taking it down to 30p, blend the frames so both are there. You'll get some motion blur, but it'll allow the deinterlaced footage to look at least somewhat similar to the interlaced footage. Not that skating Mario isn't fun to watch.

I've been waiting for this review for years! He's reviewed like a half dozen versions but finally he's doing the one I grew up playing! I LOVE this version! I rock the shit out of this game. I still play it with some of my buddies from time to time. I still have my NES hooked up so sometimes we switch the old console on and have some fun. We also play Bubble Bobble a LOT. That game is seventeen different kinds of awesome.

I love this game. Played it on the C64. Even back then Nintendo games were among my favorites although I had no idea who made the games. BTW this game was an influence for Smash Bros (look at how you reenter after losing a life) and New Super Mario Bros; You can either play cooperatively or screw each other over.

Have you ever played Super Mario Brothers 3 with multiplayer? When it's one player's turn they can land on the same place as another player and it enters them in a minigame that IS Mario Brothers with slightly better graphics, and they compete for stealing each other's power-ups or the ability to play a level. It was extremely cool, I hope they bring something similar back! (I've also played this or the Mario Bros on NES, Arcade, Atari, GB and VC)
@mikeheinlein374611 жыл бұрын
Can you review this game for the Atari XEGS, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Apple II, the Gameboy advance versions, and the arcade version? And maybe even the version in Animal Crossing? My life isn't really complete until you do them all.

As someone who started out on the 5200, I always found the 2600 joystick to be stiff and hard to use. I probably went through 20 5200 joysticks as a kid, so clearly it was a disaster, but when it worked, I really liked it.

Mark you should really play one of the Super Mario Advance games. There's four of them and each one has an updated version or Mario Bros along with a four player version. It's probably the best version (boy I said version a lot).

I dunno'... I'm picky about my Mario Bros. I really miss the icicles, though I suppose a lot of versions didn't have those. The fireballs in this version more than make up for that difficulty, though, and not in a good way. In the arcade, they're big and bright and give a fair bit of warning before coming out. Here, you get almost no warning and they're ridiculously tiny and the green one blends in too much with the background and I can't tell you how many times a green fireball has killed me because I didn't notice it until it was right on top of me, and it just feels cheap =/

I've got four versions for GBA. They're on all the carts in the Super Mario Advance series. I forgot it was out for e-Reader. I want to get one of those. I'd really like to get the SMB cards. There are new levels in there. I want to play those so badly. There's also a Mario Party game. It's an actual board game with minigames. It looks interesting. But anyway, that's how you do it. Just find any SMA cart. It's on all of them.
