when I was 13 I had my first migraine attack and was hospitalized with the fear of a tumour. My brother came from England back to Holland to buy me a gameboy however the next day it was stolen from my room in the hospital. The next day he bought me another. I spend many hours playing Nemesis in the hospital. I remember everything.

Honestly, this game is my fucking jam. I never had the pleasure of playing this in my childhood but I can literally have this in my GBA for a YEAR at a time. I have never tired of it. Even when I need to take a shit I'll stick it on the last level on loop 2 with no lives and see if I can beat it.

May I teach you something too? That wasn't the only thing Nintendo did. They also forced the developers to make games exclusive for their console. THAT is the reason why the Master System and the Turbografx 16 (heard of them?) had much smaller catalogs in comparision.

The way Mark was talking, you'd almost be fooled into believing that this was the only Gradius game for the Game Boy. But you'd be wrong. Nemesis II (aka Gradius: The Interstellar Assault in America) came out two years later!

Yes and no. The arcade version was called Gradius in Japan but the MSX port was called Nemesis, as was the European release.

I'm really confused about something. I beat this game but I didn't get any end credits. The game just went directly to the 2nd loop. Could anyone explain this? I played it on an original cartridge and everything. Is it possible for cartridges to be glitched and skip credits?

no,it is because lots on games are really lazy to add credits in the end of the game or just add a simple congratulation screen like c64 port of salamander

You don't get the credits if you just beat level 5 after choosing it from the level select, at least that's what happened with me yesterday when I was practicing it. Lost about 60 lives and after finally beating the boss at the end it sent me straight to level 6. When I beat the whole game today I got the credits.

I remember seeing the Nemesis arcade cabinet at 7-Eleven as a kid. I played it a lot. Then one day I went to Toys R Us and found "Gradius" for my NES. I took a chance and bought it. Could it be the same game! Yes it was and I jumped for joy!! Fondest video game memory!

I beat this on the small Game Boy screen and you're right the graphics are very clear for how busy it is. The soundtrack is top-notch and the difficulty is really nice, took me a long time to memorise levels and beat it with the stock 2 lives but was so so worth it.
