Back in the 1980s when I was growing up and spending as many hours as I could trying to escape the horrors of adolescence, my friends and I would play this game for hours and hours. We played entire 80 game league schedules. We wore the logo off the game cartridge from inserting and removing it from the console so much. Still the best baseball game ever, in my opinion. Playing the computer wasn't much fun, because unless it hit a home run, it would only hit singles. And anytime I had runners and 1st and 3rd I would pull a double steal and score easily.

My older brother and I had this game growing up. We had fun playing it on 2 players. I remember my brother would draw the roster for the whole season on paper and keep track of real MLB stats. He was basically doing the work back then for what modern baseball games do for us today.

That speech is better then the speech in any NES or Genesis game I've played! Pretty amazing for a 30-year old game.

Me and some friends of mine used to play this every weekend and we loved it. We were all pretty good at it because we played it so much. I still have my 5200 and the game plus a whole bunch more games. I don't think I could stand to play it now though. We've been playing PS2 Slugfest 02, 04, and 06 for about 10 years now every weekend. Can you believe that?

Still playing all three Slugfest games! Never get tired of them. I beat my 2 friends real bad on them most of the time. I won 37 games in a row about 5 years ago.

The outfielders threw slowly to make up for the fact that the outfield was pretty small and it lent more realism. Meaning, outfielders throwing slow prevented them from throwing runners out at first base on singles.

I think Game.com is one of the most under-rated handhelds of all time. Sporting such classics as Sonic the Hedgehog, Duke Nukem 3D, and Mortal Kombat Trilogy, it delivers fast arcade action on the go in a way never seen before (or after(or during)). Before smart phones and the Nintendo DS, the Game.com's unique innovations were years ahead of their time, and the experience provided rivals even the mighty Mattel HyperScan. Surely a must have for any serious gamer on the move.
