I actually agree completely. Mark doesn't review games anymore. He talks about them, and makes jokes that usually aren't that funny. I love his personality, he's a great guy, but he can make videos that are SO much better if he just put more effort into them. This seems to be a case of quantity over quality.

hyperscan FTW! lol. I did a 5-part review of the hyperscan showing the console and it's games. I did the series because I was inspired by cgr's review of the hyperscan stuff... so I found all the stuff and bought it so I could see it for myself.

Usually, these kinds of handhelds have a A/V cable of some sort, so you can see the crapitude on a big screen, but they generally have a tiny plug on one end, so if you lose it, you can't use a storebought RCA headphone to L/R plugs for it, like you can with those Firecore Genesis units

Actually, Mark, the iPod Touch didn't really exist until a year after this was released (the App Store didn't rise until 2008) and the iPad didn't rise its head until 2010. Heck, Android smartphones wouldn't grace the market until 2008. So, this thing was actually pretty awesome for something released in 2006. I'd have bought it.

I have 2 VG Pockets, one has Frogger with some GBA color/NES type gameplay and sound (a round shaped handheld) and the one with Space Invaders, Bust a move and Burgertime which has a GBA sound and look to it (the caplet). That caplet I have had only 35 games instead of 50 games from that video.

@bombjack198411 жыл бұрын
Is Mark being a bit harsh on this? It seems good value for $30 - a very nice screen and a decent assortment of official and cloned games. It would have been a good buy for children or casual gamers at that price. Also minus points to Mark for thinking that UN Squadron hack/clone was 'Neo-Geo'-like.

This thing doesn't actually look all that bad, it was just obsolete as soon as it was released. What should i buy? A Nintendo DS or a VG Pocket Caplet?....decisions decisions.....
@katakisLives11 жыл бұрын
It all depends upon how much it cost on release and ones expectations when going into the purchase! it seems like a fairly solid device with reasonable graphics! probably should have been released around 1998 but if it was cheap enough that shouldn't matter! I got the PSP and that served my handheld gaming needs! I don't really consider the smart phones in my handheld purchasing decisions because I'd rather not have to take out an 18 month contract and pay through the nose for the privilege
