People say this is a Playstation controller clone. Let us be reminded that the Playstation was originally going to be the Nintendo Playstation. The original PS1's controller was a Nintendo controller. Sony just added the grips on the side but it is even identical to an SNES controller.

I finally got myself one of these suckers and I'm enjoying it so far. One thing I don't like re the control sticks, they're not bad, but they felt a bit too springy for their own good if that makes any sense, it took a bit of time to get used to, especially since the Nintendo controllers I've been using most lately have been the Wii U pro controller and the Gamecube controller. Still I like the build even if it is a little to light, but it's pretty comfortable. And as a personal note, it's a nice satisfyingly noisy controller which reminds me of the Gamecube controller, which is always a plus.

I actually like the eight-way Octagonal gate that's around the analog sticks, when you're playing overhead view RPGs or shooters it comes in handy to be able to just -sink- into a specific direction rather than wobbling inbetween Right and Diagonal Right.

@DokieOnMahCar I agree, the ps2 controller just fits so comfortably in your hands. I never once got confused about which button was where, the button layout was a no-brainer, and the analog sticks move so smoothly.

Bought mine in highschool (2006-2010) still works. One time, I came across a garage sale, and they had a few authentic wii classic controllers. Bought them, but turns out none of them work right, so they were sold on ebay. Mine, which was probably Bought in 2007, still worked, and are even a little yellowed.

I have been playing Mario Kart Wii with the Wii Classic Controller and the Wii Classic Controller Pro since 2010! Right now it’s 2023 and these Classic Controllers are my all time favorite and one of the best controllers ever made for the Nintendo Wii! I still play Mario Kart Wii online on Wiimmfi with these controllers and the online races legacy continues!

I remember how important it felt to find something like this during the Wii/U days, because it just felt better to play some games with a classic style controller than a wii mote with a nunchuk. I wonder if anyone cares about something like this today, with the Switch being out and not being able to buy games online on Wii anymore.

Yesterday I went to trade in Geometry Wars Galaxies because the game is unplayable with the nunchucks. I only played about 2 minutes before giving up. Luckily they had the classic controller in store and I've spent 4 hours on this game today. YEAAAAAHHHH

I think the 360 controller is okay, but the battery compartment in the middle really cramps my hands, and in my experience they disconnect from the console all the time(I do realize that the wired controller fixes these issues). The Ps2 controller on the other hand may be a little small but it gets the job done, its just a matter of opinion. Personally for me PS4 and the original Xbox have the best controllers.

I have a PS2 and an XBOX 360, and I prefer my PS2's controller. I'm not saying the X360 controller isn't good, but the PS2 controller feels more natural in your hands. The only problem with the PS2 controller is that the analog sticks get tightened sometimes, but aside from that, I recommend using one.

I bought a one of the original Nintendo Wii , White and have GameCube ports , to play GC games . They're still made and sold in Japan and still very popular there . I saw an image of the 3ds and wiiU controller scaled to actual size. I measured it. The buttons on WiiU are indeed larger than 3DS! The Wii U buttons seem to be exactly the same size as the 1 + 2 buttons on the Wii Remote (which are about 1/4th bigger than the 3ds ones. Also the Wii U sports a noticeably larger DPad with slightly larger circle pads in comparison to 3DS. Good news! (Assuming they don't change it)

The piano black finish makes it even closer to the PlayStation, the PS3 surface is the same. I better like the white without the handle. The OnLive controller is textured as well, looks really nice!

Depends on game, google around and you should find the answer, in short it works for some games but not all of them, and some supports classic controller but not gamecube controller. And yes, it does work for smash bros(brawl).

it works for most Wii games that use the classic controller, like Brawl, however, if you have a Wii U, you cannot use the Gamecube controller at all because the Wii U doesn't have Gamecube controller ports.

Just from looking at it, the handles are the same structure of the nunchuck accessory. Also, the base is exactly the same as the original classic controller, except the L2-R2 Like buttons are placed in the PS2's positions.

alright this is a confusing question. I bought the WiiU and want to play Wii games from the Wii e-shop on my WiiU, so i bought a WiiU Remote. I noticed alot of the games require a Wii classic controller or a classic pro controller. I bought a WiiU Pro Controller, If I tranfer the games from the Wii menu to the WiiU, will that work or do I need to buy the Wii classic or procController? any help will be appreciated

Check the back of the CoD box. If I'm not mistaken, they show a symbol of all the different compatible controllers on there (definitely remote and nunchuck symbols, less sure about gamepad ones).

I like the controller. They should have included a rumble feature, made it completely wireless and fixed the sticky Y button. Every time I go from pressing Y to pressing A, the Y button sticks. The controller is extremely comfortable in the your hand. I mostly recommend for playing retro games with the classic controller. A few things that I wish you could have thrown into the review instead of talking about the Playstation Controller so much.

I got a pro- felt hard on the d-pad and the buttons felt smaller with less spring to them. It also feels awkward when your index fingers are knocking on the under-hangs of the shoulder buttons. Then i got some classic controllers so i could let my brother play emulators on his wii- two of them for two play streets of rage. To my surprise I find that the classic controllers are by far the most comfortable ever designed! you can get your hands round the whole thing with no over-reach strain and the buttons and d-pad have a good chunky spring to them. If it integrated L/R3 buttons in the sticks and just maybe a small vibration motor in the under-middle where your fingers wont wonder into, it could be the only pad you would ever need- ok maybe a simple shake sensor and mic to scare those keese.
