From South Country area and it's always been a best kept secret of pleasant living. I have never felt scared day or night unless something very unusual was going on. I hate to admit, but I feel a sigh of relief when I get out of the downtown and south of the City. South ST Louis city was always nice when I was a teen in the 80's and fun cruising around.

The buildings on Fine Road aren't related to the power plant. It's the Metropolitan Sewer District Sewage Treatment plant. Conveniently located near the Meramec River for dumping treated waste water.

if you pause @ 16:48 to the left resides The old faith Lutheran church sanctuary that has since been demolished. This church was Faith's first sanctuary and they moved to 6101 telegraph road in 2000 where they currently reside. It was sold to the nursing Home Bethesda health group where it was used as a storage facility and went into decay. Due to it's neglected state it was demolished as a result of complaints of unsafe building structure from area residents.

That's a sewage treatment plant on the right on Fine rd. That isn't a power plant. Ameren Electric is further down the road.

I have lived in Arnold Mo for 24 years from 1998 - now there has only been two major floods in those 24 years 2015 - 2017 not every other year most of the houses in the flood plane are gone any house you may look at will not get flooded.

Good to see some hills, some places you visited are flat as pancakes. Arnold looks idyllic, then meth was mentioned as problem.

I'm aware this is a bit late, but as a local to the Arnold area I do feel a bit obligated to clear a couple things up. To start with a small one, Kenny was one of three Wallace brothers to graduate from Fox HS, although we'd rather forget about Mike's existence and Rusty pretends he didn't. Kenny's a really good guy, he's invested a ton of the money he made racing back into the area. Still races at I-55 Raceway, the local dirt track, which is widely considered one of the best dirt tracks in the nation. The whole meth problem was always blown out of proportion relative to neighboring counties purely because JeffCo was the only one that both substantially invested in fighting it and targeting production over simple possession. As you said most of it is in the south end of JeffCo, and nowadays its relegated to the sticks even more than it used to be. While there's certainly some underestimation of the current meth use in the county due to a lower focus on busting labs, you'll only find a couple of outlying numbers that say it's estimated to be anywhere near as bad as it was 20 years ago. The Meremac flooding is a bit of a contentious topic to those in the know. Back in 1993 there was a historic flood that caused a lot of damage. A couple levees were built in St. Louis County to help combat any future flooding up north, however all that ended up doing was make floods down in JeffCo even worse. Levees prevent the Mississippi from flooding up north, but leaves no room for the Meremac to drain into the Mississippi so it just floods all over JeffCo. The 2015 and 2017 floods weren't too bad for STLCo but were far worse than 93 in JeffCo. Only good thing to come out of it is seeing just how many people volunteered to help sandbag some of the more at risk houses such as the Bayshore neighborhood, which saved a lot of family's homes, including one of my childhood best friends. Arnold and Oakville don't *really* see each other as all too related. Lot of people in Oakville have a weird superiority complex purely because they're on the north side of the Meremac.

I’m glad you said all this because all of it is very true stuff he didn’t mention, also I’m surprised he did cover Arnold’s famous water tower and lovely Arnold Park!

Yeah I remember you, and I appreciate you for wanting to. I don’t want to ask people for money, and I took down the Patreon because I didn’t like going that route. How about Venmo if you really want to? I put it on my channel bio. Won’t be upset if you don’t or if you forget. If you do decide to though I’ll be flattered.
