One of my favorites! I think this also describes Queen too! As far as I'm concerned, I still think Queen is a band of WIZARD EMPERORS of the stage and the universe, not princes or kings, etc. To this day, the effect their music has on the soul and crowds is a pure magic all their own that is eternal!! They set a bar that has yet to be met!

yes Yes YES do "One Year of Love" from this same film score. There's only a Queen lyric video, but OH such a killer song with Freddie's voice and I believe John steering the way musically (except for the orchestration part). One of their GEMS.

Hi David!!!! Love this song, it's my absolute favourite from the album "A Kind of Magic", incredible song, it's a shame a lot of people don't know it just because it wasn't in the Greatest Hits, but i think is one of their greatest songs from the last years of the band... Also if you liked that Brian's solo, you MUST listen to the song "Dead on Time" from the 1978 "Jazz" album, you won't be able to believe the speed of that fingers, and Freddie's singing so fast (faster than Stone Cold Crazy!!!)... Love you man, take care!!! :)

You are such a great musician!!! Thank you for putting that intro in, loved it!!! Princes of the Universe is one of my favorites, I love Brian’s solo, and Freddie’s sword-mic fight lol. Freddie’s high notes, I like how you noted they put bits of the movie in the music video. The movie “Highlander” was so good in its time, I loved it. If you liked that high note you should check out the Queen song “The Kiss”, also there’s a good compilation of notes check out “Freddie Mercury A Vocal Range Compilation F2-F6” video, it has so many of the best notes in it. There’s also a Roger Taylor compilation “A Vocal Compilation of Roger Taylor B1-E6” fun stuff.

That Roger one is incorrect. That B1 note is vocal fry it does not count towards your range. It should be E2.

Just re watching this, (and why not?!) and thought I would add that part way through the film, Christopher Lambert says "Hey, it's a kinda magic". The album "A Kind of Magic" is practically the soundtrack for the movie "Highlander". The rumor I'd heard was that "Who Wants to Live Forever" was written by Brian May after they'd seen a partial rough cut of the movie, and was inspired by the inevitable romantic tragedies inherent in the concept of an immortal man and the women he loved.
