I'm one of those huge Rascals fans so I absolutely love that compilation. See is a great song. It really rocks. Great album too. Badfinger is such a tragic story. As you said very talented.

Hi Larry, Love your videos. I ignored the Bee Gees for years, until I saw a old 1970's movie called 'Melody', which (apart from one Graham Nash song) they wrote the soundtrack for. The film opened with a lovely folksy acoustic song called 'Morning of my life'. It was completely different from the disco stuff I'd heard them do. It made me check out their earlier stuff, and there's a lot to like on their pre disco era albums.

The Bee Gees were probably the best disco band out there Larry, they were really good at it even though I wasn't into disco in any way,I couldn't stand disco but the Bee Gees were the best at it and their 60's stuff which was also very good I did like, the Rascals and Badfinger were great, the Rolling Stones were very good at being the anti-Beatles,the bad guys to the Beatles good guys, something that was a created thing as well, they were competitive but were also friends and were never totally good or bad on either side, they were just two very good bands,to me the Beatles were the best band ever. Bob.

The new Beach Boys Sounds Of Summer reissue is AWESOME. 80 songs on 3cds, with tons of non hit deep cuts. So many other great compilations out there. My personal favorite is also my VERY FIRST BOX SET, from back in high school. Genesis Archives Volume 1 1967-1975. Has a fantastic live version of The Lamb, and other live tracks and cool super early 60s Genesis demos.

Larry, I had that very same Cure dc, it was a great introduction to their music. I have also been a big Bee Gee fan from their earliest of stuff through their disco years. Very much indeed great artists. You're right though, in the late 70's we were overdosed with their music.

Great, relaxing video. Yeah, Brutal Youth is a good middle period album for EC. The Attractions play on about a half dozen songs and Nick Lowe plays bass on the sessions before Bruce Thomas arrived. You have some killer compilations. Looking forward to seeing more of them in the next video

Your cat is so cute. Behind you watching as you speak.. Liked Tom Petty. Mainly his 1970s music. Here in New 🇳🇿Zealand we had our own artists that were popular 1960s/70s. Split Enz were internationally popular. Loved Badfinger, I liked their songs 🎵 especially the song No Matter What. The lead singer committed suicide back in the 1970s. Thanks Larry. FROM Carl.

Hey Sam. I have this unpopular opinion regarding Tom Petty's 2nd album. I think it is a masterpiece. Do you know of any Petty fans that feel that way? Damn The Torpedoes gets a lot of attention for obvious reasons, but to me You're Gonna Get It is nearly flawless

@@kevtruth I love songs like No Second Thoughts on it for sure. A masterpiece? Maybe not, but I don't think anything about it is weak.

Trying to sleep again, but I had to get out of bed to comment. (Boy that defeats the purpose! LOL) Tom Petty is a definite must to get his whole discography when the time is right. Even his non-hits are beloved gems. And then there is his LIVE music, plus Mudcrutch. Mike Campbell is definitely carrying the torch with The Dirty Knobs. I am surprised you haven't dug deeper given your musical tastes - Beatles and all. To me he just got better and better until the end. Also have you checked out the Zappa '71 box set that has the complete John Lennon show? Sounds incredible - even Yoko - I definitely enjoy her New Wave / Talking Heads sound on Double Fantasy & Milk and Honey. (Oh and also for more live Zappa jazzy stuff that you are getting into - try out the albums - Little Dots, Imaginary Diseases, and Zappa Wazoo). I digress. Back to Lennon - How about the Claypool Lennon Delirium? Sean sounds so much like his dad and fits perfectly with Les Claypool. Pure psychedelic/progressive masterpieces that you will absolutely love. Back to ASMR. I believe you are giving ASMR to your cat, Mittens. So relaxed. Yes I stayed with you until the end - now I am going back to bed to watch it again. P.S. - Did you just compare Yoko Ono to Nickleback? Hilarious.

The recently released Tom Petty "Wildflowers & All The Rest" 4 CD set goes great with that "The Best Of Everything" 2 CD. It's relatively cheap, and I don't think there's a bad track on it. CD 1 is the original album remastered. CD 2 is the songs he was going to add to the album's double album configuration. But they made him stick to a 15 track, 1 CD release. Like Paul McCartney and "Red Rose Speedway". CD 3 is some amazing demos. A few are better than the finished version. CD 4 has great live tracks. If you like that release, there's also the 1 CD "Finding Wildflowers". That has many alternate versions of the songs, plus a few more outtakes and two B-Sides. I think it doesn't have a bad track, either. How many 5 CD sets have no bad tracks? Not many!

Nice and relaxing but you should eat a banana while talking for the ultimate ASMR experience. You got me thinking about my first compilation album. I used to buy Elvis’s Camden releases when I was a kid but my first real best of compilation was Legend - Bob Marley. I sold it when CDs came along, which I regret, but I kept the poster..... although I have since lost that. I like Yoko too. What is interesting for me is that I grew up in a Beatle household with older siblings who were teens during Beatlemania. When I was a kid I never heard my sisters say anything bad about Yoko but they didn't hold back with their hate of Linda McCartney. Indeed, there was the horrible joke about a dog with wings. I always thought Linda was cute.

Hi Larry I am not a big fan of greatest hits albums unless the songs are from around the same time. some artists had long careers and their old music and the newer stuff doesn't always work well together.
