When leftists were allowed to be edgy at anyone's expense. World has flipped. I blame it on social media. I'm still a lefty though because I believe in social programs. Wouldn't be where I'm at today without some help. Grew up in the projects. Leftists are also still the most anti-war but sad thing is the democrat politicians are still pro unnecessary wars. Same with Republicans. All do the bidding for who donates the most to their party and not the people, it doesn't matter the party in that case. Sh*t sucks how controlled the government is by their richest donors. 🙃

Jay Chou is another musician that has that effect on people. He's a composer/singer/rapper from Taiwan who made his first album in 2000 and is still going strong 24 years later. You should definitely check out his albums. He's got 15 albums now and he's composed every song he's released. A song I would recommend as an introduction to his style would be "Wounds Of War". It has a dark melody with classical piano, fast rapping, and haunting R&B vocals. He's a musical genius. He's not an amazing lyricist like Eminem but he's an amazing composer. So I guess he could be more compared to Dr. Dre. But his flows are amazing like Em's. His songs are in Mandarin but the translations are easy to find online.

Em's been in a darker place for a good while and that makes different kinds of content than early Eminem. Artists are humans too, and go through stages, something people tend to forget. I wasn't as big a fan of songs like 3AM as I was ones like Lose It or Till I Collapse, but it was still Em and he did have good ones during this time. It's good to see him back to having fun with projects, cause that's when humans are (usually) at their best, free and not being weighed down. Even more so because it seems like he's shouting out the people that have rocked with him since he hit it big

In the end of the song "When I'm Gone", Eminem says "grab the gun on the ground, cock it, put it to my brain, scream 'Die shady' and pop it." That's Shady's death. Which would mean the title is specifically a reference to the many times Houdini was reported to have died in one of his performances, and the fact that the magician was not in fact dead.

Ya know...Now that you mention it, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the theme of The Death of Slim Shady. How he's matured, gotten sober, and stopped being so insensitive since his younger days, but now it seems like no matter what he does, people dismiss his modern stuff and say he's not as good as his old Slim Shady era material, while also making it clear that his old offensive stuff just wouldn't fly these days. So it might very well be about the conflict between the modern, grown up Eminem and the more immature and deliberately provocative Slim Shady, and him trying to make some kind of peace with it.

Knox catching the Steve Miller Band sample is why he’s the GOAT. Edit: Instead of replying to everyone, I’m just going to point out that not everyone shares your lived experience. Congratulations on recognizing it, you’re old. Not everyone is. Edit 2: Because some of you aren’t firing on all cylinders; I knew where the sample came from. Before Knox, I watched 3 other reactions that didn’t mention it. Since the band is special to me, I was waiting for a reactor to point it out, which Knox did. Therefore, I praised him. No reactors seem to have caught or mentioned that during the "fusion" scene, where Eminem and Slim Shady fuse together on the rooftop, there's a comic tag that says "They created a monster!" Referencing how 'Without Me' starts. Now, think about the next line of that, too: "'cause nobody wants to see Marshall no more, they want Shady, I'm chopped liver" - because the people have been asking for Slim Shady style bars. My God, the man is a genius, fr. This album bouta be 🔥🔥🔥

Also a cactus that Is mentioned in Houdini. -Eminem made the same Breakdance moves in "without me" dressed as Elvis -"without me" starts with the lyrics "I've created a monster...", when old Shady and new Marshall become one the comic texts says "they created a monster" - the big Eminem sign in the back is black in "Houdini", in "without me" it was yellow. There also is the fact that people will say they are something, even though they don’t even act like it. They will do it just for attention. An example is Chris from Mr beast, he acts just like a boy, he does immature things and messes around. But Chris claims to be a women

"White chalking it." When ranking things if the #1 seed wins in a tournament, it's considered "chalk". So when Em says he's "white chalking it" he's also referring to the fact that he's the #1 seed in tournament for best rapper and saying that he's picking himself as the #1 rapper

Nice! But also, 'white choc-in', on account of that ridiculous claim that he literally can't be the best rapper because of his skin color/ethnicity.

bruh...ty so much man - first time watching but truly appreciated how much you break down the actually timings - sampled music (I thought I recognized that!) - and just general love for Em you went into so much more detail than many others do - but for someone like me, it's truly appreciated - saved me a lot of time :P ngl - you had me at what did they sample here: when you nailed that track instant sub (esp since it was frustrating me that I recognized it)...keep doing that
