You just described my ex. She’s narcissistic, manipulative and good at gaslighting. We broke up last night and though it’s sad, it’s good for my mental health.

Number 7 is the exact thing that happened to me. When shes angry it fees like she doesnt love me. She tells me words that are very hurtful. And when shes in normal days or happy she is very sweet and always telling me that she loves me

I decided that instead of asking my husband to be in the kids lives more and our lives (because he is everywhere but family focused) I would ask him what role he plays in our family life....my mistake he literally had 2 things and went on and on like it was some great achievement and we should all be greatful 🤦♀️ I always just try to live my life and allow him to do what ever because it's way to difficult to discuss anything with him. The worst part is he sees how he is and he doesn't even try to work on it.

Yup, my ex partner shows the 7 signs. And here I was, questioning what was wrong with me and why this relationship failed.

This was so difficult to lsten to because I know it is true. I've been married to a subtly, and sometimes not so subtly manipulative partner, for 24 years today. What is so bizarre is that he is so charismatic and charming with everyone else. I'm searching out counseling and hope to find myself again.

I’m having a relationship with a manipulative person that has all the 7 signs at the moment and right now he’s doing the silent treatment of this month (it happens at least one time/month). I’ve always had a feeling that he’s been manipulating me but I’ve never accepted it. I’ve always been the one who apologized both for my and his faults, I was the only one that was trying to make things work after a fight because he made me think it was just my fault that he acted in a certain way, even after a physical abuse. I saw your video about the silent treatment and then I clicked also on others and I’m thinking that this time I’ll give up on playing games on myself and accepting such a behavior. I’m gonna let this silent treatment make me aware of my self value and of my wishes so I’ll definitely break up with him. I’ve had a false sense of a healthy relationship for more than 2 years and half because he trusted me blindly and I’ve been thinking all the time that if he can trust me like nobody did then he’s the one. But unfortunately I didn’t realize that it wasn’t the trust that made him act this way but the way I went crazy for him and came back every single time. He just knew that no matter what he did I would ALWAYS come back and he WAS right. I love your videos and you’re awesome. Thank you 😘❤️

Today I realized the full extent my partner goes to, to be the one who benefits. I feel so used and unappreciated. But part of me is also so relieved I can call off the engagement, and have zero obligation to him. It’s been this way for 3 years, with a million lies, broken promises and apparently- fake “changes” that easily came undone the minute I expressed displeasure with his behavior .

It’s crazy because I got into an argument with my gf because she wanted to go out for “labor day” which I work on the week days I’m atleast gone for 10-11 hrs thought out the day trying to get my sleep so she decided it was a good idea to turn on the lame while getting ready to go out I was expecting her to use her flash light from her phone to find what she’s needs instead of havin the lamp on having the light everywhere so I decide to go to the other room to sleep by my daughter & she comes & yank the cover off of me so this is where I got really irritated so I confronted to her to stfu & she told me to say it to her face which I did that’s when she starts hittin me as much as I wanted to hit her back I didn’t… I’m a person to avoid conflict to a certain extent until I feel disrespected which I tried to walk away & end up entertaining non sense

I actually notice different signs of manipulative behavior you discussed in both myself and my recently new Ex..after 7 long years.... Is it common for one's manipulative or narcissistic traits to rub off onto their partner who initially did not show as strong of these traits and after years of hoping for change and lack of actual improvement, they end up absorbing and showing these traits in order to protect themselves from the feeling of unfaurness in the relationship???

I’ve been in a relationship like this for a long time. When it was finally at the breaking point he attempted to change but still has fall backs here and there. Is it possible that it is broken beyond repair even though he is willing to know make a change but this behavior has just broken me too much to move on? Is it possible that change came too fast?
@germanlovenugget15 жыл бұрын
Especially the part of how they say they love you so much but when things are bad they make it seem like you are the worst and they deserve so much better. I think with time this has broken me and I don’t know if he can really stop that even if now it looks like he’s trying.
@KristinCoaching5 жыл бұрын
Only time will tell in terms of REAL change...people can act like they've changed, but time is what really answers that question. So if you're partner is still doing hurtful things, especially when they are angry, it sounds like real change has not happened, or at least the kind of change you need in order for feel trusting of your partner and feel close again. It sounds like a lot of damage has been done, and that needs to be the focus on your relationship; repairing that hurt and rebuilding emotional safety in your relationship.

What about manipulative behavior that has been learned? My husband is a veteran so he suffers from PTSD, bi polar disorder, but he’s also learned his manipulative behavior from his shitty dad. I’m constantly pointing out how he manipulates situations and once I point it out he’ll usually lose the anger and apologize profusely and actually tries to stop doing it. Given he’s 38 years old...it’s been a battle cause I’m the only woman that’s ever challenged him on it. Is there hope for him? BTW we’ve been together 15 years...I got with him when I was a naive 16 year old and we have 3 kids so I took the shit for a LONG time before setting my foot down, and demanding change for me AND our kids.

Is it possible to recognize ALL the points and yet be happy with your companion ? I had been looking for a " father" in my men all my life , and when I met this charismatic, good looking , successful man, I accepted to be controlled, advised, taught....and I LOVED it. He was my lover, my father, my teacher , everything I had wanted. People around me said I was being manipulated , but I was so very happy.....We had 6 years together and then he passed away last year.We met in our sixties.
