I actually really like Exe’s characterization here. Instead of just some demonic serial killer he’s more of a crazed Sonic fanboy kinda like Syndrome from the incredibles.

i also enjoy the way this exe's characterization also makes him a more proficient fighter than other exes, back in the animation where he fought Lord X, Lord X complains outloud during the fight that he's not a fighter but rather a torturer, whilst this exe is looking forwards to the thrill of the fight and taunting/haunting his opponents during a difficult battle rather than toying with them like a child mimicking their favorite comic book/anime character's special moves (he even does the same in this fight by copying classic's cloning move)

I love the characterization of your EXE he’s very charming. It was so cool seeing Sonic utilizing each unique power of the emeralds and eventually going hyper. While he doesn’t talk, there was a lot of emotions in the moment of him looking at knuckles and then going hyper with a memory of him cheering Sonic on. Have to say, I enjoy this ExE more then the one always being portrayed. It makes it feel like Sonic actually is possessed by a deamon with all the jokes and snips he makes, something that actual Sonic would do. He honestly feels like a more deadly Deadpool, or even Beetlejuice. Makes him feel more interesting then the serious "I Am GOD" portral he always is shown as. Edit: I know almost nothing about ExE lore and get them all confused, so I thought this was Sonic possessed. Still, even if this is just some sort if entity that copied Sonic's body, this version still was more entertaining to watch. Instead of just being some sort of serious entity with a god complex who likes killing, they're more of a Sonic Fan who not only copied his look, but also tries to copy his personality as he kills people, which in my opinion, makes him much more interesting to watch since he actually has a personality, and a fun one too

Respondendo a sua pergunta, sim! Sonic moderno poderia sim usar os poderes de Superstars na super forma dele, ele só não teve essa ideia ainda. Vale ressaltar aqui, os jogos de Sonic aparentemente tem duas linhas temporais, que se separam em Sonic x Shadow Generations. Uma sendo a linha principal indo da era clássica até a moderna, e outra se mantendo na clássica (Mania e Superstars por exemplo)
