Yes, I know, yet another Penn State running back! And don't worry, there's one more on the way before this season is over. I actually really enjoyed making this video, even though Dozier wasn't all that explosive. i also found some more Blair Thomas footage that i wish I had used in my Thomas video from a year ago. Anyways, as always, please tell me what you think of this video, and who you'd like to see in the future. - Pocky -

I can do videos of defensive studs, but they're quite labor intensive.

My step brother went to Kempsville High school with him and they were good friends. I have his rookie card,Football and Baseball card. Unfortunately,I have no college card to complete that.

PockyCandy strikes again! No one seems to remember Penn State RBs but you. Dozier was very effective. Thanks PockyCandy.

I think that few people remember the Penn State backs because of their less than stellar track record in the NFL, with Dozier being one of them. I mean, I could've told you from making this video that Dozier definitely wasn't worth a first round pick and wasn't going to be a superstar in the NFL.

Great point. I always felt like Blair Thomas, Doziers back up, was better but Paterno always favored his older players.

Pocket Candy !! YOU DA MAN !!! as always! i really dont care if some of these guys dont make it big in the NFL. Growing up it was (and STILL is thanks to you !!!) fun and great to watch these guys run through , over, around and by defenders !!! Thanks !!! KEEP EM COMING !!!! this is better than anything on tv !!!!!

Some folks look at art and get "moved' . i like watching a great, even a good rb attack a defense. and again you are great at these because i think you appreciate a great run even if its a 12 yd run with a broken tackle and juke. doesnt have to be an 80 yd td run !! thanks !!! this is GREAT stuff !! and you sure can find em !!!!!! (its an obscure one and there are better runners out there to make videos for, but if you ever get a few min to look if there is enough material out there for Jacque Robinson from univ of Washington that guy had skills. he was kinda lazy but so never took advantage of his talent, but when he was on he could RUN !!! Rose and Orange bowl MVP. if not no worries !!! i am hooked regardless !!! thanks my man !!!

Thanks for posting. I was at that last game where they played Miami; the Fiesta Bowl . It was awesome. He ran well, but I believe the defense did an outstanding job as well.

Freshman Dozier was amazing against Alabama in 1983. Due to injuries, he sorta changed his style into more of a power-running workhorse.

That game against Alabama was one of the finest performance for a True Freshman Nittany Lion RB. The best part was when DJ went up and over from a yard out to score a TD. The '78 and '81 Bama games saw the lions stuffed at the goal line and this helped ease that pain....Fact is DJ pretty much owned Bama......

He was still great later on. Became a good receiver and was a good blocker as well.

+PockyCandy ~ Could you please put together a highlight tape of the career of Hugh Green? I saw the one you did on Lawrence Taylor and they were contemporaries. There is basically nothing on him and there never has been since youtube was launched in 2005

The Vikings drafted DJ in the first round in ‘87. DJ couldn’t figure out the sophistication of the pro game and never knew where to run or who to block. To his credit he was a very effective kick returner. In the end, his failure with the Vikings directly led to the infamous Herschel Walker trade just two years later.

Psu has had so many good RBs. Too numerous to count. Dozier is one of my favorites. Ran like a Train. Epitome of tough....
