For comparison purposes, it is very important that the volume of both guitars is the same and in this video the Squier has the volume a little lower. A simple adjustment in the height of the Squier or Fender pickups would equalize the volumes. Another observation is that Squier CVs made in China, before the production line moved to Indonesia, are better evaluated

It's a great guitar. I love the satin back/glossy top maple neck. For me it just blows away anything else under a grand. In the "Clean Tones" segment, I definitely liked the tone of the "road worn" over the CV but I wasn't sure whether or not it was because the Road Worn sound louder ("Yes, well this one goes up to 11. It's one louder."). So maybe it's a good demo on the fact that the pickups in the Squier CV just aren't as loud and that, accordingly, we'd have to consider swapping out the pickups?

Hey dude thank you! I get what you mean. I think tweaking your amp and pedals goes a long way. I just kept the same settings for the comparison but in a gig situation I would’ve EQ’d it differently. i just bought Squier Tele VC this month, several yeasrs after i sold my Fender tele 52 reissue 2002. The tele52 stayed with me for like 12 years. The Squier VC feels and sounds really good. I like it more than the tele52. Something i think it might be cons for VS. 1 it's heavier than tele52 , 2 some fret work are bad. on my VC some fret are short. make it easily to slip while you do like vibrato on 1st and 6th string. (but on 52 every fret is short XD) pros for VS 1 cheap as it is squier 2 it comes with a humbucker size bridge pickup space. which is so convinient if you want to modify it into humbucker or P90 etc. if you really like to have a tele , tele is your favaoate guitar. i say go for a Fender. get a ash body. if you just want to add a tele in you axes list, want to have the feel and sound sometime. Squier VS is a great choice. it sound just right. just what i want from a tele. i used to have Fender Japan TELE traditional 60s 2018. Beautiful, but sound weak feel stiff. No inspiration to me.
