These classic vibes are phenomenal, I was a bit dubious about the Indonesian made guitars but they are even better than my Chinese made guitars (and they were great) I’ve bought two strats and two telecasters in the last two months, they are definitely keepers, I have been playing for over 50 years and I don’t care about the logo on the neck, I’m glad it says Squier, in years to come these are going to be so collectible, I just can’t believe what I have with these guitars, they sound and play amazing, I just don’t know how they do it but I’m glad they do it, American Strats…. You can keep them! I’ve had so many, the classic vibe is it for me, apologies for the little rant, 🙂🎸 Squier… keep on keeping on 👍

Hi there I've recently bought a classic vibe 50s black Strat simply to modify on a budget as a David Gilmour black strat look alike. I was wondering have you ever upgraded the trem block on these and do you know what size I would need.. I'm a novice at guitar tech so any help would be great. The only mods I'm going to do is the blok and the Gilmour switch other than add a black pickguard so should be easy enough, we'll I'm hoping..

I think the USA strats are tremendous guitars and it's more the high price that creates a way bigger expectation with these higher end models. I've personally never owned a US strat though just MIM guitars but I'm currently on the lookout for a good deal on one of these squier classic vibe stratocasters although I'm also considering a classic vibe tele.

I've owned both the 50s Classic Vibe and now a 50s Original series strat. There is definitely a difference in finish, quality and sound but it's not huge. The original series guitars are slightly breathier and rounder sounding. The wood used is nicer looking. The paint job is nicer (both are two tone sunburst). The neck edges are nicely rolled, the frets well dressed, the pickguard inside is tidier and the electronics are sturdier. The biggest factor for me is the finish. I'm not careful with my guitars. They don't spend much time in their cases. I'm in 4 bands and I teach music too so I spend thousands of hours a year playing. This means they get dropped and dinged - a lot. Because it's a nitro thin finish, the original series strat wears in an eye-pleasing manner. The classic vibe just starts looking ugly as it wears.

I would love to see a test where you took three of the same exact guitar model (strats) but have the player think he's going to be playing different models. I believe, in my experience, that there can be significant differences within the same models... Be it variations in the individual pieces of wood, pickups, pots, caps...whatever... which has taught me over the years that there are important elements that you just can't assume based upon a guitars price tag...
@pjo19642 жыл бұрын
The same model can vary in weight by over a few ounces.
@braveheart4603 Жыл бұрын
This is exactly why people always advise that if it's at all possible to physically try out the exact guitar you intend to purchase. TBF the quality control these days for the most part is excellent so it's less of an issue than it used to be, even the most expensive ranges in the past were hit or miss depending on the individual guitar.

@datukaruma15635 жыл бұрын
Really? because of all the squiers the bullet has the most obvious cheap pick ups, not bad ones but sounds cheap.
@skillracoonful5 жыл бұрын
@@datukaruma1563 I believe the bullets are hotter pickups. The classic vibes are vintage output pickups and thus have more clarity and chime. But through a fender twin or deluxe-like amp, you can come close to having a vintage output with a bullet or affinity. Btw I never had any issues with bullet or affinity pickups, surely enough they're not your wax-potted handmade ones but I'm pretty sure they're good enough to keep a beginner busy given the right amp.

Without knowing how vintage pickups should sound, The classic vibe sounds more vintage to me. All three sound good but if I where to put the three up against I would say the vintera sounds more over the top, the american original second and the classic vibe sounds as if it has the less output of the bunch and for my tastes it is better. BUT IN MY OPINION, what defines a great guitar is the whole package. The pickup technology is not a super complicated stuff, hence there are many cheap pickups that sound great, also given the fact that ultimately their job is to amplifily the natural sound of the guitar. What makes an american one better( and still the classic vibe is great) is the construction. Still I own mostly squiers because the unbeatable value.💪🤪

True that the american original has stronger tremolo mechnism to get along with 0.11 or 0.12 strings and the neck is thicker anyway to deal with the tension. It is not only a pine or alder with maple. The pickups are better, the tuners and the electronics. The point is how much more we are willing to sped to get that big of a differece in our sound. I like the classic vibe very much.

Why does EVERYONE say that the new Squier CV (made in Indonesia) is worse than the old models from china? People talking about downgraded hardware and electrics, worse wood and also bad finish. Also people say they are more expensive and are now just a bad deal compared to the chinese ones ... Now you guys tell the COMPLETE different ... that's interesting? I can't tell, I just bought a brand new 60s CV (lake placid blue) but I can't compare to any other version. It looks great (too me) and has no issues, ok the screw on the input jack was lose, I had to turn it tight and there's a tiny 1 mm) spot in the paint that's not perfect but that's really everything I was able to find. I bought it at our local store so maybe (or of course) they did a propper setup before putting it on display but that's why you should buy at a trustworthy local store if you can... but really this guitar feels and looks just great for what it is and what it costs. I know you can get much better stuff and also you can get pretty good ones for low prices from Harley Benton but if you want something as original as possible for as little as possible money I THINK these are just pretty much bang for the money. I oringally looked for an Affinity or even Bullet but the Affinitys where out of stock and the Bullets felt a bit too cheap, don't get me wrong, they felt good but the look of the CV just cought my eye and I couldnt stop liking it ;-)

I just want to say that a few weeks ago I went to a store with the idea of buying a Fender Precision. I had the budget for an American Professional (the old American Standard) but my eyes were fixed on a "Player" (the Mexican one, the former "Standard"). After two hours I went home with a Squier Classic Vibe 60's. It's unbelievable how good this bass is. I spent a couple of hours fine tuning it. Relief, action, intonation (then I removed a shim under the neck pocket), intonation again, then I went on smoothing the edges with a sanding block. I think at least 40% of the price difference is in that loving care cause now it plays like a dream, the action is amazing (I managed to reach the perfect dynamic balance, with the "raspy" sound when you dig in that I learned from Scott Devine). Just for pure fun I bought 2 CTS 250k Pots, a new 0047 capacitor and the Quarter Pounder from Seymour Duncan. I rewired the whole thing using the typical Precision diagram and I slapped on it a TusqXL nut. There was no need in my opinion to change the electronics and the pickup, I did it purely for the sake of doing it cause I saved hundreds of euros in the first place. No need to change the bridge and tuners in my opinion cause they work just fine. Well now it's simply the best bass I own in terms of playability, looks (it's the Olympic White with Laurel fretboard) and personal "psychological" satisfaction. And I own a Sterling Ray 5, a Fender American Standard Jazz Bass, a Yamaha TRBX505 and a Japanese made Ibanez SDGR 5 from the '90s. I don't think I'll ever "NEED" to buy an American Fender instrument after this experience. I'll buy another Classic Vibe 60's Precision (for a heavy relic project) and a Classic Vibe Jazz to see if it beats my American one once I'm done with a similar procedure. I bet it will

@@AnderDoUrden Hey man, that's cool! It's good to hear that not only the guitars but also the basses from the new CV series seem to be pretty decent instruments. I'm no professional musican, my son and I startet playing not so long ago so I wanted something that's easy and nice to play but at a moderate price so I can change later if I feel the need. Originally I wanted to buy one for me and my Son but honestly, we both use the CV now because it's such a joy to play this instrument. If I'd go to buy a second one for me I think it has to be another CV model, I'd be massively disappointed if I get anythin else and it's not that good. Even as a beginner player I do know quite a bit about instruments and guitars, I learned so much about it in the past and even if I never played a very expensive Model next to the Squier I can tell, from all I know, this is beautiful ;-)

Hey fellow Andertons lovers!!!! Just a quick aside - I just discovered Joss over on his new GAK channel doing a review on the new Tonemaster amps, and he was playing some totally sick jazz stuff. Very delightful and good to see he's still around. Sounding amazing. If you miss him, stop by and say hi :-)

Waiting on that classic vibe fiesta now. Damn they have been out of stock for long in Sweden. Screamed like a gal when i found a B stock.
