The music is by Van Gellis (who sadly died a few days ago (it’s 26/5/22) called “Conquest of Paradise”. Wonderful wonderful music about a ghastly subject……the Spaniards/R.C. doing what every large nation has done all thru the ages….taken what does not belong to them, AND subdued and killed the people already living there. “Empire Building” it iOS called. “Stealing” in reality.

Many thanks for another great video of fabulous classical and film music! Some music scores from films are true masterpieces like the score to old classic films in the 1930s by the late great brilliant Hollywood composer Max Steiner and many others! The score to the original 'King Kong" is brilliant and so is the score to "Interview with a Vampire", another masterpiece! I also love Ennio's masterful scores as well! Two other great film scores which are gorgeous and worth mentioning are "Far From the Madding Crowd", by British composer, the late great Richard Rodney Bennett and the great score to "Dr. Zhivago" 1964, by the late great French composer Maurice Jarre as well with "Lara's theme"!

I wasn’t sure about the piece, until I heard the plaintive violin notes of Schindler’s List. My heart breaks when I think about the many dear Jews and others who perished at the hands of the Nazis. Again tears broke through. Thank you for including this haunting music. ❤

HALIDONMUSIC, may I ask a question? How do you choose the performer/orchestra for a particular piece? Do you do a research, is it based on the personal experience of one or more people, long time listeners of classical music? Or is someone paying you to choose this or that particular performance? I'm curious, because I'm sort of trusting your choice, and in many cases our tastes are quite similar. Well, not always, of course. For example, I really like your choice for the immortal Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92: II. Allegretto. On the other hand, I'd choose Maria Ewing as Carmen anytime. :)
