I really recommend doing another one for Genshin. If you want something more technical, I highly recommend GIlded Runner, which uses the Fibonacci Sequence. For a more epic/boss theme, Scaramouche Boss Theme All Phases (Yu-Peng Chen actually sings in this theme) or All-Devouring-Narwhal are good choices. Sadly, Yu-Peng Chen isn't in the HOYO-MiX team anymore, but there are still many composers left that make incredible soundtracks for the game.

@@baronstriker8378 Actually, before quitting, Yu-Peng Chen composed two tracks for Fontaine ("Je sais le nom de l'etranger" and "Caliginous Hearthfire"), and if you check credits on different OST albums, he seems to have stopped being the lead composer for Genshin around the time Sumeru Desert first came out. It's also worth noting that he had almost no part in writing most of Enkanomiya OST and composed only two tracks for the Chasm ("Stories of Remote Antiquity" and "Inevitable Conflict"), because Yijun Jiang, Dimeng Yuan, Qian Ding and Xin Zhao composed the majority of the OST for these locations (and later produced the majority of the OST for Sumeru Desert and Fontaine). EDIT: Yu-Peng Chen is mentioned in Fontaine OST credits because HOYO-Mix used some of his leitmotifs or parts of previously composed tracks, it seems.

Her backstory is heart breaking😢 Before becoming La Signora "The Fair Lady", she was Rosalyne-Kruzchka Lohefalter, a young woman from Mondstadt (The starting area of the game.) Around 500 years ago she fell in love with a knight. After some time she left to study. While she was studying in the Sumeru Akademiya Rostam (the knight) died in a war agains monsters. As Rosalyne comes home to Mondstadt, she finds out about the fate of Rostam, leading to her insanity. After mourning, she decided to use “her life’s flame” to cleanse “the world’s crookedness,” becoming the Crimson Witch of Flame. She let liquid fire consume her, abandoning her mortal body. She only ever used her liquid fire to burn monsters and demons, but it gave her infamy amongst people and they started to fear her as the Crimson Witch of Flames. Before she could be fully devoured by her own flames, Pierro Leader of The Fatui (an enemy organization ingame) found her and decided to make her an ally. She was given a Cryo Delusion a human made copy of crustals that give people powers) to suppress her flames and became known as La Signora, the Eighth of the Eleven Fatui Harbringers. If you give the Tartaglia and the Scaramouche battle theme a listen, you'll hear the Fatui leitmotif runs through them all. Other battle themes have sounds coming from the regions they portray: Rage Beneath the Mountain being Chinese-inspired, God-Devouring Mania having an Indian/Arabic feel, and even Scaramouche's own boss theme (Polumnia Omnia being part 2 of the piece) taking inspiration from traditional Japanese music while integrating modern electronica into it. Even the Fatui motifs have a Russian bent to them, as their origins are Russian-inspired. When not in battle and just exploring or existing within the world, there are various ambient songs that play depending on the time of day, weather conditions, and even based on which region you're in at the time. The music for Port Ormos is a banger, and is just walking around music while you're in that location. There's depth to Genshin music, and at this point, I'd say there's almost more music than game.

Great reaction! Fellow composer here. I started playing Genshin Impact when it just released and I wasn't going in expecting any kind of musical masterpiece, thinking "oh, it's just going to be another anime gacha game." Boy, how silly did I sound back then. Few days later as I sat through the game with the music in the background, I found myself in awe, pondering "what is this music?", "who composed this?". Honestly, even after being over two decades into my music career, Genshin soundtrack has shown me colors I've never seen before. Yu-Peng Chen truly is a genius along with HoYo-MiX. He has undoubtedly cemented his place as one of the generational greats of video game music. I'd put him up there with Nobuo Uematsu. I see many other great recommendations in the comments. But as a fellow composer to another, I recommend "Rite of Battle". The depth, complexity, virtuosity, mastery and "pretentiousness" put into this piece has no place in a video game soundtrack, but it works so well. Personally, I believe it's the piece that truly shows off Yu-Peng Chen's musicianship and genius. I am glad you got into Genshin OST. You are in for a treat, seriously. You've earned yourself a subscriber and I look forward to enjoying more of your reactions.

Genshin's music is one of the biggest driving factors that keeps me coming back. It is such a vast, diverse soundtrack with amazing orchestrations and symphonic epochs but also driving electronic raves and it all meshes together so beautifully. The game world is divided into 7 Nations, each one having it's own theme and influence from the real world. Mondstadt is based off European cultures, Liyue is based off East Asia/China, Inazuma is based off Japan, Sumeru is based off Indian and Egyptian cultures, Fontaine (which just became available) is based off France, Natlan (not available yet) is based off Latin and Hispanic cultures, and Snezhnaya (not available directly) is based of Russia. As such each Nation has it's own musical identity with that basis in mind.

Yu-Peng Chen (former lead composer, recently left) and the entire HOYO-MiX Team are so well-versed in the chords they use, they definitely have a good grasp of western harmonies as you mentioned, simple yet effective. What I love about the soundtrack are the universal leitmotifs they've used in the other ~900 in-game tracks as well as the high quality of orchestration, layering, and instrumentation. Fontaine is French, for instance. They go SO SO SO hard with it, it is seriously stunning. Global Warming flooding, changing timelines, dead gods, everything is in this game. First I want to say that Yu-Peng Chen gradually left Genshin during the Sumeru expansion (middle eastern/egypt/india vibe area musically). As of now he no longer works on the soundtrack for Genshin. A lot of people were worried that the quality of the music would go down, but honestly, it's been about the same. The Hoyo-mix team is really something else On a completely different note, La Singora's theme is good, definitely top 10 even. But for a feel for the variety of the soundtrack of Genshin has, it's actually one of the weaker pieces in terms of variety specifically. That is to say it isn't good, it really is one of Genshin's top 10 tracks for most people, but it is one of it's "safer" tracks (2 years ago I never thought I'd be saying this but here we are). In my opinion, the most interesting tracks Genshin has released are in no particular order: Maidens of Sanctity Gilded Runner Hustle and Bustle of Port Ormos When All has Elapsed Azdaha's Battle theme (all of it) Devastation and Redemption (aka: Divine Damsel of Devestation) Scaramouche's Battle theme (all of it) For something from Fontaine (the newest region made without Yu-Peng Chen's help) I'd recommend: Fontaine (the name is boring I know) Fortress of Meropide I (It hasn't been released yet so that's all I know of it) Another great piece of Video game music in general is "This is What You Are" from the Warframe soundtrack.

There are a couple of live symphonies on genshin's official youtube channel that each represent a region from the game, and I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on them as they all take inspirations from very different cultures! The three main ones are, "Fontaine Live Symphony" (french inspirations), "Sumeru Live Symphony" (middle-eastern inspirations, and my personal favourite), and "Inazuma Live symphony" (japanese inspirations).

Woah, been here since the channel was still around 1k subs, was digging the maiden reactions, and never thought you’d actually cover Genshin music one day. Glad to see it happening, there’s so much great music in Genshin. Pretty sure there’s been many suggestions so I’ll only suggest Polumnia Omnia for now. I’m excited to see what’s next

Thanks for the video! You might have already seen it but Genshin has live orchestral performances by some of those orchestras you mentioned, like the London Philharmonic Orchestra, etc. and they're fantastic, you should check them out. The one for the Sumeru region in particularly fantastic.

As a classical composer, I would highly recommend the track Seething Animosity, as there are sections of it that legit remind me of Mozart.

Genshin tells stories through its music. This piece begins with twinkling sounds that reflect the ice powers La Signora attacks with...then after the transition, it shifts to heavy guitar and violins as she enters her fire phase. Another great one, the Raiden Shogun boss battle...the composition has this theme of repetitive motifs that are very static because she is obsessed with the idea of "Eternity", so it is a reflection of the centuries of meditation and stagnancy, as well as the rigidity of the region under these oppressive rules imposed to preserve this concept of eternity. They also just do a lot with setting the scene in each new environment. The region of Sumeru, which is half desert/half rainforest and is kind of an amalgam of real-life SWANA cultures, features themes from Rimsky Korsakov's Scheherazade--it's my favorite symphony, so when I heard the variations while playing, I was taken aback, but super excited to hear it. And, of course, Fontaine (which is French & Spanish inspired with a heavy culture of operas and stage shows) has some pretty obvious Tchaikovsky leitmotifs, particularly from Swan Lake. Genshin's music NEVER MISSES! Actually, another game from the same company (Mihoyo/Hoyoverse), which is called Honkai Star Rail, has some incredible music as well. Because each planet or space station you visit is different, they tailor the music to match...the newest area, Penacony, is a literal dreamland theme-park, so the music is often "old-timey" and jazzy in the sections where you're doing silly things like fighting mechanical T-rex chefs. Meanwhile, back on the snow planet fighting for survival, they gave us an epic revolutionary rock anthem, and on the East-Asian-inspired Xianzhou Loufou, we're treated to sweeping epic tracks with lots of guzheng and erhu. Yu-peng Chen is a musical GENIUS imo.

Music and Storytelling is what I love most about this game. Sadly people have been hating on this game for its community, which is really a shame. They are truly missing out on a lot of good stuff for keeping up some joke trend.

Words cant express the density of music Genshin has put out and the quality of it in just a 3+ year span. In 3 years that franchise has put out over 900+ tracks across 20 albums, with consistently beautiful music in a variety of styles and themes. No gaming franchise in the history of ever had released such great music, so much of it, in such a short time. If you loved Signora's battle theme, do yourself a favor and check out every major album from Genshin. Just fantastic music, every album.

Even as somebody who doesn't play Genshin Impact at all, the music is good enough that it's worked its way into my regular listening. There's a really crazy breadth of styles covered by the soundtracks released over the years. Genshin Impact can really fuel a lot of reaction/breakdowns purely on its own just because there's a shockingly high volume of tracks that also cover a wide variety of styles, cultural influences, and tones. While I will probably not complain about more Genshin reactions in the future because there's so many good tracks, I do hope that we still save some room to include tracks from other video game sources as well as other anime sources - since Genshin tends to have a little overlap in both communities. I'm really appreciating the wide variety of different types of music you're covering on the channel lately. Even if any particular day's track doesn't do it for me, you cover such a wide variety that there's always the next thing to look forward to.

The music is representated the character it self. Like first phase u will hear like snow vibe magician vibe harry potter, because she is cryo / ice magician, cold as ice she lost her lover. And than The second phase is rage of her, she use pyro / fire magician. How beauty story of genshin even the enemy has big story behind them.🔥❤️
