Iron Maiden lead singer Bruce Dickinson considered him to be "...the best drummer the band ever had. That's not taking anything away from [present drummer] Nicko. Technically, Nicko's probably a far more competent drummer than Clive. It's just that Clive had this incredible feel, and you can't learn that, and I regret that he wasn't given more time to try and sort himself out."[17] Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith also praised his drumming ability. "Clive was a great drummer, an Ian Paice-type drummer, steady and solid with a nice feel to everything."[18]

I´ve already commented in another video, suggesting you to react/review Carry On by Angra (or Shaman´s live version) and the amazing live version of Fairy Tale by Shaman, both sang by Andre Matos. I'm surprised you didn't talk about the rhythm, Doug! This song really started a HUGE trend for Maiden, doing the eighth-sixteenth-sixteenth "gallop", which then they blew wide open with The Trooper and Flight of Icarus on the next album. For most of the 80s, that was a trademark rhythm for most of Maiden's heaviest tunes. Great video, man!

Would love to see you play a full Iron Maiden track on the Piano, wasted years, fear of the dark, phantom of the opera. Just some suggestions. Would make my wife and I really happy. Also as a Scotsman I recommend the Clansman as a song to react to, once again a history lesson and social commentary.

Glad to have you back, and until I saw your video from your vacation trip, I was extremely anxious not to see you on the Maiden Monday, and was truely praying that nothing bad happened to you. Don't ever do that again to your followers Doug ❤️❤️❤️. And nice catch at the end, never realized it while listening from Iron Maiden, and when you played it on piano, I was like.... "Hum I know this music and it ain't Iron Maiden..." but couldn't connect the dots as quickly as you did. As usual, great job, and thanks for that video once more.

i've seen all your maiden reviews (plus all your Opeth, Nightwish and similar). My favourite Maiden songs, I think you've not reacted to yet are: Powerslave, Holy Smoke (has to be the music video), Afraid to shoot strangers, Man on the Edge and The Clansman. i'd still love you to react to something by Apocalyptica (maybe Beyond the Stars off their latest 'Cell-0'...)

Another great reaction Doug. The Hey Jude reference was fantastic. How about some more Rush: The Fountain of Lamneth is super under appreciated IMO. Also Porcupine Tree's Arriving Somewhere But Not Here will blow your socks off. Watch the live version. Rock on Prof. 🤘 RIP Neil Peart, the original music Prof. 🎶 🇨🇦

Doug, if you ever find yourself with too much time on your hands, do a Iron Maiden cover album on piano! I'd love to hear it.

"too much time on my hands" is a lyrics line from "Wasted years".. ;-)
