ClassicalGuita... Here are some wonderful exercises you can do to build your right hand for classical or fingerstyle guitar. You can do these simple exercises anytime. And they will help you play with more accuracy, dexterity, and stamina. Have fun!
For even more on the subject, go to www.ClassicalG...
Classical Guitar Shed is an exploration of music, skill, and daily endeavor on the classical guitar. Find articles, courses, tutorials and more at www.ClassicalG....
If you are learning classical guitar, or would like to learn classical guitar, CGS is a great place to discover resources to help you on the journey. Whether you’re just beginning guitar, or have been playing for decades but want to rise to new levels in your playing, you’ll find highly detailed tutorials and lessons.
At the root of beautiful playing is a solid technique (aka “the way your hands move”). You can find step-by-step methods, presented in very fine detail, showing exactly how to get great sound, and how to move your fingers. So as you progress, you can continue to improve. Bad technique puts a limit on your playing (speed, tone quality, control). Good technique gets stronger and more efficient with every practice. It forms the bedrock foundation for a lifetime of beautiful music. You’ll find loads of technique suggestions and tutorials at Classical Guitar Shed. And if you’re serious about learning great skills, you can join The Woodshed, and get arguably the finest classical guitar education online, with personal support and hundreds of practice-along videos. Read more on The Woodshed here: www.classicalg...
You’ll find some of the deepest-diving explorations of classical guitar and Spanish guitar pieces anywhere online, with step-by-step instructions on how to play guitar beautifully so that the music sings and connects with listeners (any yourself) on an emotional level. Music is not entirely subjective. Some ways of doing things are more effective than others. If you learn these basic “rules”, you’ll automatically play with more grace, beauty, and feeling.
At CGS, you’ll also discover archives of comprehensive articles about many of the issues, details, habits, and best practices surrounding playing guitar. You’ll find tips and tricks on how to be more effective at practicing. You’ll find articles on subjects as varied as getting great classical guitar tone, how to avoid pain and injury playing guitar, and the differences between practice and exercise. If you ever need a break from your practice and want to enrich your understanding of all that is classical guitar, browsing the Classical Guitar Shed archives are great place to explore.

I played guitar when I was a kid 10 - 13 and not very well I might add...but recently I just started to play again because I really like the way music sounds. First I used a pick , strum and beat my guitar up.... now I am trying to learn finger style. I am 64 now and have the time to become good at it. So I know I need to learn the right way. I started picking up my guitar about 3 weeks ago and developed very sore fore arms and hand cramps so I knew I was doing something wrong. It was stopping me from practicing because of pain and cramps. By watching your video today I noticed I was holding my guitar all wrong with both my right and left hand. string buzzing and dead sounds to right hand fingering lack of movement to resting my hand on the bridge and fingers on the face. So my plan is to develop good techniques right at the start so I don't waste my time ..having to relearn again. I do a lot of camping and sitting around the camp fire with friends. Music will make it so much better. Thanks for the help.

I love these exercises, wrote them down again soooo now I have to transfer all my notes to one classical folder notebook because I have to many folders not thinking I would need a separate one, key word not thinking. No problem I get to review again because these lessons become more priceless to me as time passes, thank you Very much.

my first finger is way more stronger than my second and third fingers. this is expected since i usually pluck with my first finger. but what am i supposed to do for the other fingers to keep up with the first finger. i am playing the guitar for one year. and the difference is enormous.

When you performed the second technique (don't remember the name, but you were plucking the strings upward) were you using the four fingers on the same string or more than one? The camera was not focused on your hand, so I couldn't tell and I am not expert in classical picking techniques.

Its called Rasgueado. It involves striking all the strings in a rapid outward flick with each finger in succession
