Interesting fact: Bobby said he also wrote this song for himself, to tease and nudge himself up when he's in the low spirit, like "aah are u crying, cuz u can't do anything?:))" to get up and start conquering whatever hardship is there xD But also, like with kids, for everyone who need some strength and energy to face their bullies/haters, to feel they are stronger than them.

Actually the direct translation of 'U MAD' is 'Hey, you crying?' so it's kind of funny that Charlotte cried (sorry). He said in another interview that he wrote the song to himself when he was going through a tough time saying 'Hey you crying?' to motivate himself.

Bobby is SUPER particular with his production. The vocals and production might sound raw at points but they are all intended. Bobby wrote, composed and produced all the songs in the album and his previous album. For U MAD, he specifically wanted engine sounds. Bobby said he looks for "fresh" and "unique" sounds instead of trends for his music. Devil took the longest to complete because he wanted a strong drumline so he played the drums and guitar himself. He also noted how he had rawer vocal delivery on purpose in Liar. It's also clever how he incorporated Morse code seamlessly in Raining (try to find and decode it). There are a lot of incredible things Bobby posses as a rapper, musician and artist but one of the things I love is his ability to produce music that really captures a certain feel like U MAD as Jason said. Another example is "In The Dark" because he wanted a song that has a feel of just before the break of dawn. Same with "Ur soul ur body" which evokes that soul-body connection that you can't help but body roll to, while your soul is being bathe with pleasure and adoration. Pretty much all his songs are like that. They have that musical integrity, creativity and versatility. Bobby is very talented.

I feel like ever since Big Bang brought the hiphop/swag culture into K-pop, more groups have been making songs under the black community influence. Like Bobby's name is literally Bobby cuz he's a big fan of Bob Marley. DK had Tory Lanez as his phone wallpaper lmao. And Big Bang was heavily inspired by Omarion, Usher, Ne-yo. Missy Elliott. That's what brought the unique swag in before they developed their own style. We really can't deny that. Music style, fashion, dance.. Huge influence.

I agree, and I think this is because black music has such a huge impact on the american music market, where 'pop' music was 'popularized.' Because kpop is a genre basically of lots of other genres mashed together and sung in korean, it's like that, i think. it's honestly pretty incredible

Bobby always stuck me when he produced this style of music. Something about it always came off so natural and strong to the ears.
