Fredrik is probably the most underrated guitarist ever! Opeth wouldn’t be what it is without him.

Mikael was asked about his attitude towards the occult, satanism and whatever. He seemingly refused to believe that people take that kind of thing seriously. While some might, it's mostly just a trope, tradition or motif in some genres imo. As a majority of his compatriots, he is probably irreligious.

Oh man, i just love this song :D. The intro gives me chills everytime. If you're going to listen to the entire album you're in for a ride. The moment you closed your eyes and let the music sink in, that's exactly what artists hope will happen to any listener.

This is a concept album and I still want you to get into the lyrics before you get further to get the idea of a guy who gets exhiled and comes back for a woman after 15 years and he doesn't even get to have her. He fucking demolishes the village he left. She is called Melinda and she is mentioned in this song: "There is no forgiveness in these eyes for any of you but one. Dispel the mist for now -- Melinda is the reason why I've come." Fun fact: The composer and lead singer named his daughter Melinda, too.
