Seriously, she could do a full jazz album and I'll be the first one to buy it. She is as good a jazz singer as anyone out there despite her Disney-princess like voice. The way she controls her tonal color and vibrato is just out of this world. My heart is melting away listening to her sing Misty. So sweet and so perfect.

I remember the first time I heard this song. It was 1959 and it was Johnny Mathis and his album 'Heavenly'. I never thought I would hear a better version, until now. She is so sublime in this interpretation it really is other-worldly. It is such a clean and pure vocal that it makes you weep. Melancholy that's the word I was trying to think of. This song is dripping with it. That is probably why I love this song so much. Thanks so much for your reaction. I like your connection to the music. I always wanted to be musical but other than listening and feeling what I feel that is the extent of my musical abilities. Oh well.

Josh I have watched your reaction’s since you started and really enjoyed them from the beginning ! This reaction my friend was even better! She keeps getting better and better... It's not her techniques or practice... I think it's her understanding of emotions that's keeps improving... hence the her songs just keep getting better... she makes us feel more using her voice over and over... Love that she's not trying to copy the original's sounds and low notes and go full on jazz, she's mixing her usual Disney sounding voice with more new Jazzy stuff, and those runs 🙌 the tone/texture in those, you normally get when you kind a go off-tone by mistake and slide harshly. but here she makes those sounds intentionally with so much control and slides between Notes while changing the texture/tone. Just so amazing... song might be short but so many things to enjoy... Thank you for the reaction/analysis....

josh, another thoughtful reaction. She sang ensembles with the various other singers in the group during these shows. You'll find a lot of them online. A fun one feature the whole group is the pop hip hop number Day Day. Soyang has the main rap part if you can imagine that. Which you probable can because you know much control and versatility she has. She also has amazing timing and rhythm which often go unremarked. Obviously, she has natural talent, soul, and charisma. But she has also trained hard to achieve the level she has reached. If you listen to her early days, when she was bit of gospel screamer, you will hear what I mean. When she steps up to the microphone, all that training and practice lets her just sing.

I think that is Jung Seung-hwan next to Sohyang. He was really taken with this performance and said after it that he could have listened to it all day. The guy who was messing around with the bug (I think he was messing) that is Crush. The piano player is Hareem, he and Sohyang sang 'I'll be There'

Of all her performances this year, my favorite stage. The most surprising thing is her tone itself. It is soft and refreshing, and in the midst of it, it is lonely and bitter. Quietness... It's a sound that fits the song itself. There are so many details... The most amazing part of Sohyang is that it uses a number of subtly different tones and singing methods depending on the song. Everything is subtly different. This is why she can do all genres perfectly. Traditional songs, jazz, rock, classical music, rap, pop, hymns, anime songs... everything is done. It's just crazy.

Honestly everything she did on Beginagain were masterpieces. While she’s great with big arrangements, it’s just a whole different world of magic with her voice taking centre-stage in an acoustic one. Her exquisite control also comes to full play as you get to hear every little thing she does. Her latest catalogue 2020-present is imo truly the finest she’s ever been. It’d be a dream come true if she starts a youtube channel where she occasionally posts acoustic performances from her home studio and stuff. Many artists have gotten more involved online during this pandemic period. And as selfish as this might be, I can’t help feeling ecstatic over this changing trends in the music industry.
