In psychology hallucination means perception without any input or data. They don't like the idea that you can't be anything you want to be, no matter how hard you work, if you don't have the talent for it. And they don't like the idea that some people are born better than others. But it's all true--talent is a thing. Just like innate personality traits are a thing. @@angryroy6277 Haha, let me rephrase, since the impression I left you seems to be the opposite of my intention. My point is that the listeners featured in this video value cultural relevance and familiarity over technique. I think this is the case with most people. It was not written to slight them. On technical skills, Rob's playing is anything but basic. Whether pop or classical, he plays with masterful musicality and "effortlessly" injects his own flair. People can play anything and make it sound dead or alive. Rob never delivers a stillborn and that's what people appreciated, to go back to my original comment. In case I misread your message: Maybe a couple of the listeners began with some apathy, thinking, "Great... another boring classical player," but Landes blew that smugness straight out of the water every time and they ended up enjoying his gift to them.

this is exactly what happened once music was removed from schools ....kids are shocked to hear it....well done good sir.

Yup, I hated playing the trombone in middle school, in the early 90's, (I was forced into it) but that in itself made me learn to play it better on my own as I started figuring out how to play Metallica and the likes just because I hated the boring crap they made us play. Obviously later on I picked up other instruments that I actually WANTED to play.

Music has the power to move beyond words.... no one can help but be awestruck by music played exceptionally well. And part of me thinks Musicians crave the "Stunned silence" of a captivated crowd... people moved to emotions by their skill.

Yet they're absolutely clueless about some of the greatest music ever written. Music that was written FOR the violin. Concertos that took years to perfect, by masters of music. But they're swinging finger guns around to "music" played by trash cans, written by dumpster production studios.
