I missed this one watching all your other reactions I guess. People hate on this song as being the worst on the album but I have come to really appreciate it. At first it sounds like a cheesy relationship song but if you really look at the lyrics, it's actually about the struggle for self acceptance. It's about standing in front of the mirror and saying "why won't you smile back at me? why won't you love me? please, smile back at me" - with that concept in mind I think this overly poppy sunshine bubbliness is very intentional with this song as kind of showing, us putting on the happy smiley face for the world, when really we are not okay when we look in the mirror
