Written by Arizona's own Stan Jones, who also wrote Ghost Riders in the Sky. Stan wrote these songs while working as a park ranger at Death Valley in the 1940s.

ok.Checked out the three bones of contention. Hank is being his balladeer best, puts a tiny sad break in each line, guitars for backup; Colter has the macho baritone and and a rougher, campfire, Western approach; and Staney made it swing with a great fiddle behind, and that classic hiccup to his yodel. It's apple, cherry and pecan pie - take your pick - as far as I can tell, there's no "best" herre.

I notice the younger folks like rougher gravelly sounding music without too much emphasis on following the melody. Jack Daniels and Marlboro Reds... There are much better singers than Colter Wall but he's in vogue now.
