Namco Museum: 50th Anniversary was also released for the Game Boy Advance. In the GBA version of this game, the '80's soundtrack is missing and the 11 games (Galaxian, Pole Position 1, Pole Position 2, Rolling Thunder, Bosconian, Dragon Spirit, Sky Kid, Xevious, Mappy, Pac-Mania and Galaga '88) are missing.

I wish you would use the old intro again. I remember it made me want to develop a videogame called "everything" so you guys could review it and have the spoken lines in the intro be really confusing!

I always wanted to make a crappy 90's 3D style animated opening to go along with that intro. "Banished from Earth" you see a rocket launching out of Earth's atmosphere "Classic Game Room broadcasts" you see the CGR logo on the ship as it passes in front of the camera "from the intergalactic space arcade" the camera zooms out to show the rocket headed for a neon space station "on it's neverending mission to review EVERYTHING!" and transition to the review!

I have the PS2 version and it has much of the same games as included. There was only one game that he never covered was "Namco Museum DS" for the Nintendo DS, and it does have "Pac-Man" along with "Mappy", "Dig Dug", "Dig Dug 2", "Xevious", "Galaxian", "Galaga" and a few others are good games. And speaking of "Pac-Man", there was a Midway version of the same game that used the same gameplay as this one, and it was in the arcades back in the 1980's, and it was in the US by Midway. Namco originally put out in Japan before Midway published it. The reason for this collection that the title screens for Namco games had the "Namco" name on title screens for "Pac-Man", "Ms. Pac-Man", "Galaxian", and "Galaga", not the Midway versions. You can find the Midway versions in one of the arcade places, and these were hard to find.

These are fake games? No, they are as real as you can get as all of these games are arcade emulations, which means real arcade code was compiled for this release. It's so emulated that Rolling Thunder does not have the final boss theme, just like the arcade game (oddly enough the PS1 port on Namco Museum Anthology, the versions on Famicom and NES, and the one on Switch has the theme in place when you face the last boss).

I used to have this game for the PlayStation 2 (the Greatest Hits edition), but not anymore as I didn't really care for a few of its arcade games that looked too boring and odd, which were "Dragon Spirit," "Xevious," "Bosconian," etc. I still have the Namco Museum game released in 2001 for the same platform, which seems better as I can play all of its great games from there, including "Pac-Man Arrangement," "Galaga Arrangement," "Dig Dug Arrangement," and more.

Namco Museum Virtual Arcade for the Xbox 360 is the most comprehensive release so far, as it includes everything from this 50th Anniversary collection, plus Sky Kid Deluxe, which had not been released in a collection up to that time. It also includes the three Arrangement versions of Dig Dug, Galaga, and Pac-Man, which were previously available on the PSP.

Why do the Namco Museum collections never seem to include Phelios? I have the Sega Genesis version, but, while it's pretty nice by Genesis standards, it's not even close to arcade-perfect. If we're talking Taito, I'd love to get Top Landing, a game that's hard to emulate due to having special chipsets that only a couple of early 3D Taito arcade games shared (possibly only Top Landing and Air Inferno). Then again, I could just continue praying that Taito could one day bring over the Jet de Go! series of games, even just for PS4 online.

@@doctorx0079 Taito put out 100 of their arcade games on PS2 years back in Japan with the 4 volumes of Taito Memories (25 games each pack) I'd say they re-released more of their back catalog than any other game company has done in their retro compilations.
