I found this loose cartridge years ago at a Game Crazy. I had no idea what I was in for. What a surprise to find Alisia Dragoon to be such a stellar game! It was I nly $1.99 too! It's now one of the most cherished games in my library!

finally a Classic Game Room review for Alisia Dragoon. probably one of the, if not, the most underrated game on the Sega Genesis. i remember one of my cousins from New Jersey from several years ago had a copy of this game and i played it for the very 1st time. He also had a copy of the Genesis version of Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition and it was the 1st Street Fighter game i ever played. Good times, thanks 90's era of video games : ).

Got this game when it came out. Favorite game of all time. I have an emulator version on my mac i play all he time. FIRST TIME NOTICING IT WAS DRGOON AND NOT DRAGON. smh. Wow!!! When he said it the first time i was like, "fucks this guys problem?" Shit!! Whats mine? lol

This is one my favorite sidescrollers, played the hell out of it as a kid, yet no one seems to be aware of it. I never beat it though. Even years later, I've recently tried with some friends, and failed. Hard as hell in the later stages.

Neither. Arcade heritage games have been mostly forgotten, but back in the day you were supposed to get good at them and beat them the manly way: in one sitting. Alisia Dragoon is an excellent one. One of my favorites for the console, even if I can't get past stage 3.

That scrolling wall of hieroglyphics reminds me of the opening of Nausicaa, - a founding member of Gainax, Hideaki Anno worked at Ghibli on Nausicaa in charge of the scenes where the "Giant Warrior" was animated. Gainax had some small role with the game Xardion on the SNES as well...I'm sure there are others but I'd have to really look around...

Alisia and Alisha are two different names that are pronounced differently: Alisia = Alice-ee-ah Alisha = Al-eesh-ah I liked the review because this is one of my favourite games, it's sad that this is not a well known title.

Surprise sleeper hit of 1992 and the type of action game that I loved the Genesis for. Another surprise is that SoA chose it for localization at all, as it's the type of Japanese game that they were passing on around that time, choosing to bring us US developed "masterpieces" like Chakan and Greendog instead. We got lucky with this game and Ranger X, while other great games like Monster World IV, Alien Soldier and Pulseman stayed in Japan.

Aaaa yes they are, the indies man, also Capcom's going to release a new Strider game in the style of the old ones, it's being developed by the same guys who're working on the Killer Instinct reboot, and it looks awesome. It's Strider meets Metroid :P.

Good game. It gets really fucking tough later on. That Stage 6 boss was always my undoing. His patterns are tough to work out.
