2023 Petit Jean Arkansas Swap Meet Part 1

I have heard good things about this swap meet in Arkansas so I decided to make the 6 hour drive to check it out. It was well worth it in my opinion. The Petit Jean Swap Meet is held every year on the Petit Jean Mountain and it was very cool drive up to it. There were plenty of vendors as well as potential buyers along with a nice car show. I managed to snag a deal or two that should help pay for the trip so that was added plus. Although I didn't go inside, there is also an auto museum there for that was open. I recommend this one and plan on being back.

Interesting to see what this place looks like. I've known many people who went to it but we never did. 6 hours from DFW, prolly further than that from Houston.... Looks like a decent sized meet though, and a good car show. Nice to see a car show that's not all late model Mustang/Camaro/Mopar's.... That Mercury Colony Park wagon , 79-82, reminds me of the one my 7th and 8th grade teacher had (except hers was root beer brown). Our class used that for a bunch of field trips. I guess the next swap meet in Houston area is Conroe, the last weekend of October. Then AutoRama at Thanksgiving. Y'all have lots more meets in the DFW area; used to go to some of them in my younger days. Would like to,again.....

@@ClassicRideSociety oh yeah I forgot about Fredericksburg. Last time I was there was in 1991, hotter than hell and Dad and I didn't sell a lot. The highlight was a couple of his high school buddies came, hung out for a while and then took us to dinner at their favorite Tex Mex place. I think we drank over a pitcher of iced tea each! We got a spot to ourselves, under a big oak tree in the middle of the swap meet, coming in on Saturday morning. Drove up all night from Houston,to get there, through all the 290/71 interchange in West Austin that was still under construction.

Is Fredericksburg really that good of a swap meet? Didn't seem like it was that great back in the day. It's just hard, waiting for Conroe when I have parts to sell.... ebay seems like too much of a hassle especially with big stuff.

@@HotWheelsBurban I've only been to it once a couple of years ago. I enjoyed it but wouldn't say it was its a great swap meet. More like a good one. I went on a Friday but there were plenty of vendors there. Its about a 5 hr drive for me but I'll be taking my mom thus time. She probably will complain about the heat 😄.

You should've bought visor mirror. It's hard to find GM. Everything out there is aftermarket. I'd be out of place going there.. good ol boys territory with confederate flags. Good purchase on the skirts, fetching 300 and up .. low riders pay
