When I first watched Mouse back in the 90s, I thought he was goofy until the very, very end of the video. He switches stances back to regular after doing the switch pop shove it to switch crooks down the handrail amidst the credits. And that was a mind blowing realization. "Wait, he was doing all of that shit SWITCH?!"

Same thing with Brian Emmers from San Diego. They probably do most shit switch easier than they could do it regular for some reason.

How can you know if his "original" stance is regular or goofy? He pushes with EITHER foot!
@Rasec11205 жыл бұрын
@@student702 Because in his old Powell and Blind days when he was a kid he would push 'Regular'. At the time of those videos, there wasn't a ton of switch skating going on. It's safe to assume that he is in fact 'Regular' footed.

@JefeDeJefes84844 жыл бұрын
Yep well said and true. I started a year before this had came out. With most you could right away back then, with Guy I was like what way does he ride. He wasn't pushing what they now say "switch mongo" which you didn't hear that in the 90's early 2000's though. Anyway the way back then was the Ollie over that wall. Yeah somebody now could pry switch ollie but that to me was too big to do that. I remember getting into arguments when this came out with friends lol. Damn I'm old but love skating still at 35.

@cheothegeo27426 жыл бұрын
that's really what separates real skaters from jocks isn't it. it takes a certain type of personality to figure something out on their own and not be quick to search the millions of trick tips on youtube and have some jerk off tell you exactly how to do it. I think it takes away from when you finally pull that first try. you pulled it because you figured it out all by yourself. but there are still plenty of weirdos and loners that skate. you guys are getting mad at how beginners are trying to learn tricks for the first time? thats really sad dude. you should be grateful that the sport is opening up to more and more kids because of how skateboarding has grown. Yea learning from great parts like this is important and should 100 percent definitely be used to learn from as well but why bash people who are taking advantage of technology that they have access to? because you didnt? if it helps new skaters progress why do you even care. sounds like some weird gatekeeping mentality to me, and might I say quite jock-ish
