I’m not the best skater (still learning switch on transition and trying to stay consistent in terms of form) but Cardiel is the most inspirational skater and person. He literally never gives up and keeps on trying until he “gets” what must be done.

One of the main reasons i started skating faster during the tech crazy early 90's... The dude was a game changer. sure this dude was awesome and that dude but were they so gnar is a certain way that they changed the game. Cardiel did. Still trying to find his VANS in my size.

This footage is definitely from a time period around 2000-2003 i.e. when this video was released. Most of the footage in that video was new. A few exceptions as seen in the beginning of this segment, the entire Danny Way part and Salman Agah's part, if I remember correctly.

That seems to be the most important part of skating. That's why some people get fucked up on a two set or even flat land while other guys can bail off a 15 set and be fine. You can't get good if you get fucked every time you fall.

My first deck was a cardiel Anti Hero deck when i was in maybe 5th or 6th grade.i used to play the old skate game "Grind Session l" on playstation and he was my fav so my got it for me for christmas and it had to stay under the tree for the whole month but every now and then i would get it out and pop off a few quick ollies on it lol i LOVED that deck man

i use to skate with a dude like this that had no regard for life. We lived in a small town but he skated so fast and got the biggest air & would grind the biggest rails. He ended up skating for Etnies. Some people have this disregard for danger and to be great you gotta push fast.
