I grew up on a dairy farm in Ontario, Canada and we had all Massey-Ferguson Tractors. I loved out MF165 tractor; but, we also had a MF1080 which was a "platform" tractor, and I liked it alot as you sat way up high just like the tractor pictured here. When you grow up on a farm you always have favourite tractors you remember the most, mine was the MF165, my Dad bought it new in 1971 when I was 10 years old, and I spent countless hours on it, that tractor really grew on me! :) This 1968 Minneapolis Moline G1000 Vista is a beautiful machine following it's restoration, a job well done!

This a great job on this tractor. I was an employee of M-M when this tractor was originally built. The Vista was and is one of the nicest tractors we built. Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to drive one since about 1970 or so! Congratulations Ricky.

This is what makes great American Men. Since plastic models are no longer popular and being built, these kind of projects for young men and women are establishing patience, attention to detail, following a plan. This is great….

that is one heck of a tractor. I'm amazed with the view that thing has as I can only imagine how easy it must be to see the field all around you. I'd also like to acknowledge the sweet little Deere that he restored, that little thing sounds great and looks adorable.

I remember watching a yellow Moline roar past in a pulling competition with the motor wide open. That was the only time I've seen one but I won't forget that sound. Strong tractor.

I grew up running a M-M G1000, it was propane with a cab, so it was pretty fancy, a lot more comfortable to run than the IH 806 we also had with no cab! That Vista is beautiful, it brings back a lot of great memories.

What is the value of this tractor model once restored like that now?
@arvbergstedt3303 Жыл бұрын
Weak point on G-1000s was pinion bearing. If farmers pulled big loads at slow speeds. Bearing went out wrecking ring gear and pinion.

Imagine not having a side console IM LOOKING AT THE PRE 68 JD 4020s
@prariewindsfarm Жыл бұрын
I have a 68 4020. Never bothered me I guess. We had a loader on a 66 4020 using the dash controls to run it. Worked fine in my mind. I always thought tripping over the shift lever on the floor of the Oliver's 1800/50 years along with ih and there high low two level shifting patterns were a pain. But I guess it is all what you get used to.
