We just did a video on our Green 1937 Oliver Hart Parr 70 Row Crop. Interesting year. Thank you very much for the video. It answered some questions.

I see that even Melissa's blue jeans were passed down from her grandma, just like the tractor. Two thumbs up. ^^

We had a model 70 in the '70s, pretty tired, dual wheels and wide front with the Continental 6 cylinder. The cost of a rebuild kit was too high so Dad was going to junk it, I looked it over and thought hmmm, a Chevy 6 ought to drop right in there. It wasn't quite as simple as I figured but it went in and JeezLouise what a hotrod, three times the horsepower and more than double the rpm, it would spin the dual wheels on the blacktop, go over 60 mph and took a long way to stop as the brakes weren't very good when it only went 20mph. Not long after my brother and I had put this thing together, we came home from school and it was gone, Dad kind of figured we didn't need something like that around anymore. Little did he suspect, our next project was a 327 in the old F20.

The only thing better than old tractors is old tractor people!

my dad and grandpa used to own a Oliver 70 row crop, that they used in tractor pulling. they had done a lot of work to the motor to get more power. when they pulled no one could get anywhere near them, the tractor used to be called the silent partner, in red letters along the hood. they later sold after someone talk my grandpa out of it. a couple years ago i found the tractor, come to find out a few years after we sold it, the block split, and it has been sitting since about the mid 80's, i would like to buy it back but he wants way to much money for it.

I have one of the same vintage. I don't think anyone picked rust for a color either.

Super rare! Wonder if any of the other trial colored tractors are still around? Awesome video!

This tractor would not have created such a stir in Canada. All models of Cockshutt tractors were, which were built by Oliver, were painted red while their Oliver counter parts were green. This practice went back to the Hart Parr days. One our locals painted his Cockshutt 70 in Oliver green. I'm not sure of the reason; he probably got poor service from Cockshutt. Anyhow, the Cockshutt name was still visible stamped on the middle of the grill..

That tractor is 79 yrs old. So how old is this guy that bought it new in 1938???? Jesus christ he must be at least 94 for fuck sake this is crazy
@mattlf91203 жыл бұрын
He's about 230 years old lol. There's no way anyone who bought a tractor in 1938 would be alive in circa 2000, let alone remember it.
