On behalf of Alberta, we all thank you for this. I live in Calgary, Alberta. I did not live in Fort Mac, but Fort Mac is part of my province and will always be a part of me. The fire in Fort Mac has affected a lot of people. I recently lost my job because my job worked with the oil industry. But that is no one's fault. Things happen. We haven't lost any lives in the fire, but instead gained 2 new lives as 2 children were born during the fire. We are strong. We are Alberta Strong.

Can't believe this song was made well before this terrible disaster. How ironic the video was just released too. I guess Canada needed this Classified! From now on, every time I hear this song, I will think of the time I visited my dad at his camp in Fort Mac as a young child. I will think of all the people I know who work out there. My dad worked four weeks on two weeks off my whole life , always ended up taking 2-6 days of his two weeks off to fly , he’s a tugboat captain and has been all over the world. We may have missed him greatly but atleast we had each other , he missed us the same but was alone. Anyone who works away from their family knows what I’m saying , it isn’t easy but they do it for the family. I’m almost thirty and I know how much I appreciate my dads sacrifices. He’s now semi retired working in our hometown harbour, life is good!

I lived in Fort. Mac, I was born then my parents divorced 4 years ago and my my dad works up there! He's ok but it was my home with my old friends and it was so sad, I didn't know until I went to school. People told me about it and I just cried and cried, my teacher called my mom to tell her that she was worried about me. When I got home from school that day, I called my dad. We talked and he was ok! I was so happy but yet so sad because I loved it there. Now I getting used to it and I'm feeling better! My friend showed me this song not realizing my situation and I told her and it was ok. Now when I hear this song it makes me realize that it's all ok , it might take awhile to rebuild the parts that were destroyed but that's ok! 😀

Luke, I gotta say this. My family still lives in Enfield. I love & adore your art. I play this song every time I leave. I play it on repeat. I'm a Union President right now....all the Union Presidents in my Union work away. We're all over the country. In the past month I was gone for 6 days, home for 3 days, gone for 5 days, home for 9 days, gone for 5 days....that's the life of an activist. I live in Alberta, and I love being here, despite being a Bluenoser. I love this song & I love the motivation!!! I cheer for Fort Mac & I'm proud to be where I am. I just want you to know that I post this song repeatedly when I work away. I posted this to the 58 other Locals with Presidents who also work away.

We live in Peggy's Cove and my husband works at CNRL, just north of Fort Mac. Gone 2 weeks, home for 1. Flying back and forth. He landed in Fort Mac on the Tues afternoon when the evacuations had just begun. He lived the nightmare beside all the evacuees driving south to Edmonton. So glad everyone made it out safe. Thank you for being true to NS, and remaining humble.
