I just bought the same set used here less than a week ago. I'm very happy with it. I have been an artist for more than 35 years, but until very recently I have drawn everything in one colour - whether it be graphite, charcoal, sanguine Conté crayon, etc. - and I have become quite adept at seeking out the hundreds of slightly different tones of that one colour, whatever it might be. This recent foray into pastels and pastel pencils has led me to have to learn a whole new way of accomplishing my drawings. I now have to learn how to achieve tonal changes by the use of a different colour and blending them. It is turning out to be quite a challenge thus far; more than I expected it to be. However, I am enjoying the challenge despite the cost in paper - LOL! Thank you for your beautiful demonstration. I am in need of as much help as I can get in this new adventure, and you have helped me in that regard. P.S. BTW, I'm not sure if you're already aware of this, but when I made my purchase of the Conté pastel pencils I was told that you can also use them with water, like a watercolour pencil. Peace.

would love to see the entire sheet as you are creating the layout/design of your composition. thank you for sharing...lovely!! Also, would you be willing to show the camera the different colors you are selecting as you introduce them to the drawing? helpful for those of us trying to master color (especially as it's so subjective!). :-)

hi thanks for the video, the drawing is fantastic. I do not know how to draw to save my life but need a lotus pic for my presentation and I found your video. Can you advise what is the pen you used to blur out the water towards the end of the clip?
@yanghaiying10 жыл бұрын
The pen is paper blender. Here is the link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002PNTI30/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002PNTI30&linkCode=as2&tag=yanghaiyingne-20&linkId=SBMJ5HI4MXFBLGAX

Watercolor paper.

yanghaiying does it blend on watercolour paper I find pastel paper hard and does blend well but other side of pastel paper smooth side lot better
@yanghaiying9 жыл бұрын
I think pastel paper should be even better for blending. It should have more tooth than the inexpensive student watercolor paper I was using. Anyway I am just guessing. I will try and do a video.

Fast isn't always the best the best artists that ever existed their paintings could take weeks, think about what you say before you comment it on KZbin because it's really just attention seeking
