As an older teacher i find your videos so helpful. I think I remember your saying awhile back that you probably wouldn't teach for more than a few years longer. I hope I'm wrong bc you have given me so many great ideas and you know what we go through since you're one of us!! Thank you for your help and hard work on our behalf.

One of the best things I ever purchased was a big set of those magnets. You can use your book rings to hold flash cards or center materials or what have you and then you can slide the ring over the top of the clip part and it gives you tons of extra surface area to use. I do it on my fridge for my measuring spoons as well lol!

This video really made my day. I like that you briefly mentioned the words "high-quality" and "investment". Those really stood out to me and reevaluated my view on buying teaching products.Too often I purchase cheap products from, let's say, The Dollar Tree and they end up breaking apart easily and causing me much frustration (haha, but I'm not going to stop heading to The Dollar Tree because those 400-pk stickers are a hit for me. ;) ). I'm glad you presented products that I would love to use in my own classroom to avoid feeling frustrated easily and losing valuable time on teaching. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing! I actually bought that Iris cart to use in my school library. I bought a few of those felt storybooks from Target as well as some felt board sets from Lakeshore. I'm putting them in the Iris containers with books that go along with the boards. For example: one set is a zoo set, so I pulled books about the zoo to put with it. The students can use the felt boards to retell the story, work on character, setting, sequencing....etc. The student grouping pencils just went on my shopping list!

From personal experience with my little brother in second grade, I can tell you that the kids will NOT stop talking to the Echo Dot. They will all keep saying Alexa or find an excuse to talk to her. I would find a way to tell them that she is not a toy and could "be damaged from being used too much" which is obviously a lie but their second graders so they won't know the difference lol. Maybe change her name to something tats not super common. Just as an FYI when having her in there, especially with kids these days, technology is EVERYTHING TO THEM lol.

Hopefully the echo doesn't end up being used to order stuff without your permission! I personally am a fan of students learning to look up words in a dictionary as this teaches many valuable skills from alphabetical order, definitions, to similar spelling of words that an AI would not be able to discern between like be and bee!
