Hi, high school science teacher here from Florida. A suggestion, you could use the desk as a lab supply area for days you do labs. You can buy lab bench paper that absorbs liquids that you could put in the top on lab days and then put your supplies out on trays or bins what ever for each group to grab. I would also suggest trying to start to use actual lab glassware , plastic versions, with them so they get used to what the actual equipment looks like . Things like plastic beakers instead of cups, plastic graduated cylinders etc… if you have not looked into it. Argument Driven Inquiry for Elementary is an excellent source that aligns with NGSS and is very student oriented. They have a website.Again just a few suggestions

Question... blue, green, pink bins... stem supplies, could you shift the supplies in them to pink on top and bottom, blue on top and bottom, etc. and put the black one on top...Lol too much furniture is my middle name. A tapestry would look great between the windows above where the teacher table was. Room is looking great!

My father in law just retired from that position after 25 years! So I fully respect and appreciate our custodians! I saw them in the hall after this day and apologized! The worst part is that it was unavoidable! Nobody was available to help me move any furniture, so I had to do it alone! My mom isn’t strong enough. So I offered to re-wax the floor if they’d let me! It’s crazy I move furniture every year and this is the first time I’ve ever left that many tracks!
