Your class is huge AND has a mounted projector with a smart board? Wow. Mine is tiny for 38 kids (middle school English) and I have a cart for a projector that takes up a ton of room and projects on my whiteboard because the screen fell down like 7 years ago.

Lucky! You get to do this in the summer. We have been fighting for that! We get to setup our class one week before school along with all the new training sessions! It is maddening! Last year I changed rooms twice in that one week as we lost one teacher and I moved to that grade level! Talk about having to redo all my lesson plans!

Oh man, I hope you guys can return to school. I live in Southern California and we still don’t know what the plan is for my sons school. They are supposed to start August 24th but we have NO IDEA if it’ll be online, hybrid, or on campus.

Wow. You go back so early!! When do the kids go back!! We go back Aug 3 and kids go back August 10! They only give us a week to prepare. All teachers come in before that because it’s just not enough time!

Question: I am always so amazed at how early some of the warmer states starts school! When does your year end? I’m in Wisconsin and we don’t start until September.. teachers go back Aug. 26th.. so crazy.. it’s July and I am just thinking of hanging at the pool😎

just curious - the district is letting you bring in all the furniture? Our district is not allowing any furniture with fabric due to germ - Covid concerns. Interesting how every state has different standards..

I wish my district would let us goin in early summer to decorate my classroom. This will be my third year and the third time I am starting from scratch with less than a week to decorate my classroom. Congrats on the new job.

Oh gosh I hope we can go in and start decorating soon. This is pretty much all I was told I’m allowed to do until our principal gives us all the OK to come in and set up. I don’t really know when that will be… We will be beginning the school year virtually at least until August 17 and then after that I’m not really sure.

My son's school has given parents the choice to remain online for this school year or to go back on campus and I have chosen to do online but my son has struggled with the last part of the school year March until June and I was hoping you would have tips coming from a teacher. Is it normal for US teachers to have to bring so much stuff for the classroom? I teach in the UK, and it would be unheard of for a teacher to bring so much you need a U-Haul. Most stuff is provided by the school or you can order it through the school with the school's budget.

Module 3 in PhD science is useless and I wouldn’t recommend using it! I took a long term sub position and used PhD science last year and hated it.

With Covid going on Schools should not allow any extra stuff in the classrooms. Social Distancing will be enforced and extra stuff is not needed to fill up the classroom.
