I’ve seen teachers put their small group table in front of their counters and then you could use that corner as your library

I’m trying to play around with another sketch and the one I drew right after this video I had my kidney table in front of my counters! I’m going to try that out today, thanks 😊

I agree with a previous comment that you should move your small group table in front of the smaller whiteboard. Also, your front whiteboard is quite large, why can't you move your smart board in front of the class? Don't block the cubbies because the students will need them. Then put your library in the either corner. Any extra furniture, ask if it can be removed. Put the desks in a V shape, that way everyone can see the board. It's funny because I think you classroom is actually small. I'm sure you will get the hang of it. Don't be afraid to ask for help. I look forward to seeing your progress. Good luck!

If you put your kidney table in front of one of the whiteboards you will have somewhere to write or hang anchor charts when you work with small groups. I also like the idea of putting them in front of your counter and then you could put your teacher supplies on the ledges. As for the teacher podium you could put it where you teach and if you have a teachers edition or resources you are using for your lesson or a laptop you could have it right there.

If you turn your grouped tables to a slanted position, keeping the four or more tables together, no one would have their back to you (or to the front of the room). It would allow you to keep your groups of four or six together. You have a nice room. Those desks are tricky. Best wishes. I would put those tall shelves behind your kidney table, with their back to the wall.

You should find out who your mentor teacher is so that you can get a better understanding of the routine/expectations. I think you should move your kidney table in front of the smaller whiteboard. You will still be able to display anything from the board that you want them to see. You should definitely have a library. Reading should always be promoted as much as possible and that corner can be amazing. Just my two cents :)

Could you use the teacher desk and kidney shape table together as one unit if they can be at the same height, like one big work space for you? I was even thinking you could move your area up closer to the cubbies in front of the bulletin board, which you could use that board for anchor charts or whatever you might need it for for small groups. Then you could use the back corner for your classroom library like you wanted and leave the smart board where it is or instead of keeping it at an angle, slide it over in front of part of the whiteboard. I'd also make all the desks the same height so you can push them together in groups of 4. Or can you put them in pairs if you have the space?

Probably better to not have the smart board by the cubbies anyway bc that’s a high traffic area and it might get bumped a lot

Maybe move your Smartboard in in front of of one of the whiteboards. Then you free up the one corner for the library/ book shelves
