As a white straight male (way before the first two concepts existed) - Roman Emporer Marcus Aurelius - once said at the very start of "Meditations": that what he was indebted to his father were "integrity and manliness", in this order. Even in the ultra-misogynistic and premodern world of Ancient Rome he would have urged you to admit to how you feel about things, because integrity to ourselves and others is key to being a good person.
