The song in general is alright but this version is definitely a little more full. Jennie’s version feels like a commercial it’s just fast and short. honestly could have done without this song at all and something a bit more impactful and something she actually wrote on. Rose and Lisa have done good in making sure their unique tone shines through their solo work but mantra just sounds like a brat reject. Jennie can do better !

Secondly, no one said that Rockstar is better than Mantra and even if they did, it’s an opinion! Thirdly, a lot of people feel the same way about this song. Mantra is not a bad song by any means. Jennie is a very talented woman not just in singing and dancing but also songwriting. So to hear such an empty and basic song after her going officially solo (without any strings attached to YG in her solo career) is disappointing. But then again, this is just one song of her upcoming album so it’s not that bad. Still, it’s an empty and basic song and for you to react so butt hurt over someone’s opinion is pathetic😇
