Thanks for this man. I used to play tekken when I was a kid. was probably 12 or 11 and I would frequent the malls just to play tekken 2 at the arcades. I played T3 a bit when it came out and never really got good. That was the last tekken I played, or fighting game in general. When SF4 came out I learned the game and got decent with it, but skipped out on all of SFV. Fast forward to 2024 I was at the crossroads between choosing T8 or SF6. I went with the former and have only been playing for a couple weeks lol. Still a long ways to go in learning the game. I picked up Alisa, reached assailant, but I think she's too gimmicky. And now I'm looking for a character that's simple, fundamentally sound and with lesser amount of moves. I will try Claudio and Shaheen

I like some of the changes. I'm pretty bad at iWR2 so having ff4 so much better now really helped me out. I also think his Heat Smash is great because with Claudio any good low becomes absolutely huge and I like it fits his theme of when in starburst the opponent suddenly has to be much more conscious. Definitely suffering from having a few moves that in the conversion to Tekken 8's new system mechanics or to put more emphasis on other moves [d2,2 and b3+4 standing out a lot in this sense but also ff2,2 as you noted] need a bit of attention but if his patch history is anything like 7 I think he will just get more interesting over time. Plus he looks so much better in this game, proportions and animations are peak.

I'm not gonna lie, i loved having plenty of setups in Tekken 7. So it's definitely put me down a bit. Can't do any obvious cheeky run ups as if I'm gonna wr2 them in the most obvious way, stand there wait for them to stop ducking and do a cheeky d22 in starburst isn't gonna happen for me anymore. :( It used to work on any half decent player all the way up to the lower end Tekken Gods. I'll miss it.

i always used to buffer a 2 input for mixing up running 2 with ff1+2 the new running 1+2 took that away which feels like a huge nerf to me also running 2 gets caught by raw heat activation a lot which sucks ass

You honestly in this game just have to press forward 3 times as fast as possible then 2 straight away after the last forward no timing required just speed

It's the same as T7 a risky low for small damage and no plus frames its a pretty average move that isn't needed in his game plan but can be used for sure

I find it very dumb why they didnt make d22 a natural combo, it would just be deserving to Claudio for his lack of lows and considering it does nothing while starbursted. In TK7 it makes sense for it not to be a natural combo since (while starbust activated) it would lead to a full combo.

I really wish they had changed the animation of his uf3+4. It's never fit his character and always looked like some random placeholder. I never like doing it and it never felt like impactful.

Not true its not completely useless as its his most plus on block move that has uninteruptable follow up moves, it does decent chip damage and it is his wall crush move so defo alot of use for it still

Thanks for the video, but...Claudio is just straight garbage compared to others in the roster. You can't maintain consistent pressure with him, and the main tools are either slow as hell or negative to the point your turn is over. I stuck with him for a good couple of weeks thanks to your guide, but I'm done.

Claudio was made for T7 system, but now he feels much more nerfed, because of the screw system changes. F2,2 was i12 punish to get starburst, really cool, but now it"s useless. B2 was a great way to get starburst near a wall, to b432 wall combo after. Now it"s like F3 screw move, but not homing to use it in neutral. WR1+2 should be a mid, instead it"s just a waste of starburst, chip damage not so important. B4,1 is also useless - no screw, high(was made for t7 system). D2,2 it's literally a joke, the biggest nerf. Natural low low with no damage and no properties at all. We can still use DB4,3 low high natural string with pretty much the same damage. Also forgot about DB1+2 unblockable, that was great in T7. I found only 2 positive things, Ch FF4 to guaranteed damage, and Ch 4,3 for 3,2.

I watched the entire video and I dont think he is top 15. he doesnt have the bullshit factor many other characters have. to me he feels like a worse version of dragunov and I think there are at least 15 characters who are much better than him. ***jin, hwoarang, devil jin, dragunov, jack8, victor, feng, reina, bryan, zafina, azucena, reina, jun, shaheen, steve and f me even lars feels stronger.
