Pipe coil bending by Comac 9 axis automatic CNC machine

The video is showing how is possibe to create a pipe coil with variable pitch and diameter and with counter curves at the beginning and at the end of the coil. The machine in the video is operating at low speed in order to show all the operations, but the speed can be much higher. These machines are mainly used by boiler and heat exchangers suppliers.

Why is the coil in an irregulare shape and why it spinning slowly? Because this is a video made to show the machine, just giving an example. I'm a CNC machinist working on a newer COMAC model. They spin the pipes much faster and make the serpentines well, but also require good amount of maintenance. The lack of emergency stop buttons anywhere on the machine is a problem! During mass production the machine spins the pipes fairly fast so if your shirt or bodypart gets cought on the serpentine you're fucked.
