I have loved these King Oliver Victors since I first heard them on an RCA Victor Vintage LP, "King Oliver in New York." "Rhythm Club Stomp" is one of my favorite records of all time. Interesting story -- when Oliver broke up the Dixie Syncopators in 1928, most of them joined Luis Russell. Then he got a Victor contract and he needed a band. So the Luis Russell Orchestra is the band on these records.
