Claus Ogerman "saw" things that ordinary men could not. The proof is right here in this terrific music. At times it borders at the edge of a mystical experience. The colors created by his unconventional chords and dramatic sequences give me a strong sense of coming right up to that edge. And sometimes I can sense the glimmering figures on the other side.
